Three of the famous rooms now print a price. We print every one.
Look for a cocktail bar in the West Village and you will find a great deal of atmosphere and, as of September 25, 2026, more information than there used to be. Three of the famous rooms on Hudson Street now publish a cocktail list with prices, one publishes hours but no cocktail list, and one has no website at all. So here is every cocktail we pour, what each one costs, and how many minutes it takes to walk from our door to theirs.
- 36 drinks on this page, every one with its price
- 7 signature cocktails made here
- Every famous cocktail room within a 5-minute walk
- 3 minutes from Christopher St-Stonewall on the 1
- Our West Village kitchen is not gluten-free
What a cocktail bar in the West Village actually publishes
We spent September 23, 2026 reading the websites of the neighborhood’s best-known cocktail rooms, and the pattern looked consistent. A fuller read on September 25 changed it: three of them do publish a priced cocktail list, on menu pages we had not reached the first time. The table shows what each site held on September 25, 2026.
| Bar | Address | Opening hours on its own site | Drinks list | Prices |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Beer Garage | 118 Christopher St | Published | Published | Published |
| Employees Only | 510 Hudson St | Published: bar 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily | Published | Published, $18 to $24 |
| Dante West Village | 551 Hudson St | Published: daily 10:00 AM to midnight, on its Hours & Location page | Published, as a PDF | Published, mostly $15 to $26, up to $90 |
| Katana Kitten | 531 Hudson St | Published | Published | Published, $16 to $23 |
| Little Branch | 20 Seventh Ave South | No website | No website | No website |
| TALEA | 102 Christopher St | Published | Not published | Not published |
That is not a criticism of the rooms that keep their list at the door, and credit to the three that print theirs. It does mean a priced list is no longer rare on this street; what still sets ours apart is the price itself, $14 to $15 against $15 to $26 for most of theirs, and up to $90 at Dante.
The seven we make ourselves
These are house builds rather than classics with a twist, and they are the reason to treat us as a cocktail bar in the West Village rather than a beer room that also shakes. All seven are $15.
| Signature cocktail | Price |
|---|---|
| Pineapple Sunset | $15 |
| Orange Manhattan | $15 |
| Sparkling Lychee | $15 |
| Mezcalrita | $15 |
| The Hanky Panky | $15 |
| Afternoon Siesta | $15 |
| Passiontini | $15 |
Classics, spritzes and the zero-proof list
The rest of the book is deliberately unfussy. If you know what you want, it is here and it is priced.
| Classic | Price | Aperitivo or spritz | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Margarita | $14 | Aperol Spritz | $13 |
| Mojito | $14 | Limoncello Spritz | $13 |
| Martini | $15 | Apple Cider Spritz | $13 |
| Negroni | $14 | Campari Spritz | $13 |
| Moscow or Mexican Mule | $14 | Capri Spritz | $13 |
| Sidecar | $15 | Sarti Spritz | $13 |
| Whiskey Sour | $14 | Hugo Spritz | $13 |
| Amaretto Sour | $15 | Michelada | $11 |
| Old Fashioned | $14 | Mimosa | $10 |
| Bloody Mary or Bloody Maria | $14 | Bellini | $10 |
| Long Island Iced Tea | $18 | Mimosa or Bellini pitcher | $40 |
Not drinking? The zero-proof list is built, not improvised: an NA Mojito, an NA Mule and an NA flavoured spritz, each $10, alongside Athletic non-alcoholic beer on the beer list at $10. Ordering it costs you neither a conversation nor a markup.
If you are a group. Four Garage Combos pair a drink with a shot at $18 each — The Irish Icons, The Mexican Match, The Beer and Deer, and The Full Circle Mary. Shots are $10 across the board, including the green tea, the pickleback, the lemon drop and the Ferrari.
The five-minute district
The thing nobody says plainly about a cocktail bar in the West Village is how tightly packed the good ones are. We measured every route in Google Maps walking mode from our door at 118 Christopher Street on September 23, 2026.
| From our door to | Walk | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| TALEA, 102 Christopher St | 1 min | 180 feet |
| Employees Only, 510 Hudson St | 1 min | 348 feet |
| Katana Kitten, 531 Hudson St | 3 min | 0.1 mile |
| Dante West Village, 551 Hudson St | 5 min | 0.2 mile |
| Little Branch, 20 Seventh Ave South | 5 min | 0.2 mile |
Every famous cocktail room in this neighborhood is inside five minutes of every other one. Plan a night, not a destination. If a door is closed or the wait is long, the next one is a block away.
The famous rooms, and what each one tells you
Everything below comes from each bar’s own website, read September 23 and again September 25, 2026. Where a site does not say something, we have written that rather than filled the gap from a directory.
Employees Only, 510 Hudson Street. One minute from us, 348 feet. Its site gives the address and a phone number, 212-242-3021, and states that reservations are for dinner only. Its reservations page publishes bar hours of 6:00 PM to 4:00 AM daily, outdoor seating from 6:00 to 11:00 PM, and says cocktails are seated strictly as walk-ins. Its cocktail menu is online with prices: classics, modern and dessert drinks at $21, fancy cocktails and the espresso martini at $24, spirit-free drinks at $18.
Katana Kitten, 531 Hudson Street. Three minutes, 0.1 mile. Its own site publishes its hours in full: Sunday 2pm to midnight, Monday to Friday 4pm to 2am, and Saturday 2pm to 2am. Its menu page prices everything: highballs at $19.50, signature cocktails at $20 to $23, a sake spritz at $16 and a non-alcoholic cocktail at $17, with a happy hour tab as well. Contact is info@katanakitten.com or 347-866-7739.
Dante West Village, 551 Hudson Street. Five minutes, 0.2 mile. Its West Village location page gives only the address and a reservation form, but its Hours & Location page publishes daily hours of 10:00 AM to midnight, brunch from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekends and public holidays, and first come, first served seating for cocktails at the bar. Its West Village menu page links a priced cocktail PDF: signatures from $15 to $23, seasonal drinks at $18 to $26, a caviar martini at $38, a negroni flight at $47 and a $90 vintage negroni, plus a $10 Martini Hour from 3:00 to 5:00 PM daily on selected martinis. The Dante homepage does claim two awards outright: “Number 1, Worlds 50 Best Bars 2019” and “Worlds Best Bar 2019”.
Little Branch, 20 Seventh Avenue South. Five minutes, 0.2 mile. There is no website to read. That is the whole point of the room, and it is also why no guide can honestly tell you when it opens.
TALEA, 102 Christopher Street. One minute from us, 180 feet, and our closest neighbor by a wide margin. Its own site publishes Monday to Thursday noon to 10pm, Friday and Saturday noon to midnight, and Sunday noon to 10pm, and says it serves “beer, wine, cocktails, coffee, and non-alch options” with a food list of Bavarian pretzels, salads, toasts, cheese plates, a Mediterranean board and snacks. It describes itself as a taproom and cocktail bar, and its own beer is the heart of it, which is a real difference when you are choosing a room for the evening.

When to pick us, and when not to
Best for
- Knowing the bill in advance. Every drink above is priced. Nothing on this page is a surprise at the till.
- A group that wants different things. Seven house cocktails, eleven classics, eleven spritzes, a zero-proof list and 37 beer and cider lines in one room.
- Anyone not drinking. The NA list is built and priced like the rest of the menu, not offered as an afterthought.
- The heated backyard garden when the front room fills up, and the 1 train three minutes away at Christopher St-Stonewall.
Skip if
- You want a hushed, low-lit cocktail den. We are a bar with sport on and a garden out back. Little Branch and Employees Only are five minutes and one minute away respectively, and they are better at that than we are.
- You are chasing an award-winning programme. Dante is five minutes away and says on its own homepage that it was named the world’s best bar in 2019.
- You need a gluten-free kitchen. Our West Village menu does not label any dish gluten-free. The 100% gluten-free kitchen is our Park Slope room in Brooklyn.

How we checked
Our own drinks and prices were read from the bar’s own online ordering menu for 118 Christopher Street on September 23, 2026, item by item. Every price on this page is the one printed there.
Each neighboring bar’s hours, contact details and claims were taken from that bar’s own website on the same day. Where a site does not publish something, or has no website at all, we have said so rather than borrowing a figure from a listings directory.
Walking times and distances were measured in Google Maps walking mode from 118 Christopher Street on September 23, 2026. None of them is an estimate.

The verdict
As a cocktail bar in the West Village we are not the quietest room and we have never claimed a world ranking. What we are is the room with the lowest published prices on the street: every drink listed, at $14 to $15, where the famous rooms now print $15 to $26 for most of their drinks. Everything else worth drinking around here is within five minutes of our door, and we have put the walking times on this page so you can use them whether or not you come in.
118 Christopher Street, New York, NY 10014. Three minutes from Christopher St-Stonewall on the 1. Heated backyard garden out back, 37 beer and cider lines alongside the cocktails.
