Game Day · Brooklyn · Updated September 2026
The football starts before we open.
Premier League matches reach Brooklyn between 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM Eastern, and most bars on 5th Avenue, ours included, are still locked at 10 o’clock on a Sunday. So we read the league’s own bar list, pulled the real kick-off times into Eastern Time, and checked them against the hour each door actually opens.
- Kick-offs 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM ET
- Park Slope opens 1:00 PM Saturday and Sunday
- Four Brooklyn bars on the Premier League’s own list
- One popular soccer bar has closed
- Park Slope kitchen: 100 per cent gluten-free
The times nobody converts properly
The Premier League publishes kick-offs in UK time, and most listing sites re-render them in whatever timezone your device happens to be sitting in. That is how a guide ends up telling you a match starts at lunchtime when it started before breakfast.
We read the fixtures on premierleague.com on September 23, 2026, noticed the page was rendering in the browser’s own timezone rather than in UK time, converted every kick-off to Eastern Time in code, and then checked each one back against the UK clock. Every UK time below lands on a standard Premier League slot, which is the check that tells you a conversion is right.
| Match | Eastern Time | UK |
|---|---|---|
| Arsenal v Leeds United | Sat Oct 10, 7:30 AM | 12:30 |
| Aston Villa v Brentford | Sat Oct 10, 10:00 AM | 15:00 |
| Chelsea v Bournemouth | Sat Oct 10, 10:00 AM | 15:00 |
| Ipswich Town v Fulham | Sat Oct 10, 10:00 AM | 15:00 |
| Sunderland v Brighton and Hove Albion | Sat Oct 10, 10:00 AM | 15:00 |
| Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur | Sat Oct 10, 12:30 PM | 17:30 |
| Crystal Palace v Nottingham Forest | Sun Oct 11, 9:00 AM | 14:00 |
| Hull City v Everton | Sun Oct 11, 9:00 AM | 14:00 |
| Liverpool v Manchester City | Sun Oct 11, 11:30 AM | 16:30 |
| Coventry City v Newcastle United | Mon Oct 12, 3:00 PM | 20:00 |
That is Matchweek 6. The pattern repeats most weeks: a 7:30 AM Saturday opener, a block of 10:00 AM matches, a 12:30 PM Saturday match, two Sunday mornings at 9:00, a Sunday at 11:30, and the occasional Monday at 3:00 PM Eastern.
We have deliberately not printed a US television channel against each match. The Premier League’s own site does not publish United States broadcasters, and the NBC Sports Premier League page does not state its 2026-27 carriage either. Rather than copy a channel from a directory and risk sending you to the wrong app, we have left it out.
Where to watch Premier League soccer in Brooklyn before noon
Here is the part most round-ups leave out. Line those kick-offs up against the hour Park Slope bars actually unlock the door.
| Bar | Address | Opens Sat and Sun | Where that comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Beer Garage | 148 5th Avenue | 1:00 PM | our own published hours |
| The Monro Pub | 481 5th Avenue | 12:00 PM | monropub.com, read Sep 23, 2026 |
| Black Horse Pub | 568 5th Avenue | could not be verified | its site would not load on Sep 23, 2026 |
Against Matchweek 6, at our own bar, that is one match shown in full, two caught partway through, and seven missed entirely. The 7:30 AM Arsenal match is five and a half hours before we open. Liverpool against Manchester City, the biggest fixture of that weekend, finishes roughly twenty minutes after our doors open.
We would rather write that plainly than have you walk up 5th Avenue at a quarter to ten on a Sunday and find the gate down.
The Monro, twenty minutes south of us at 481 5th Avenue, is the closest thing Park Slope has to a dedicated soccer pub. Its own site publishes Monday to Friday 2:00 PM to 4:00 AM, and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Even that sits behind the 7:30 and 10:00 AM windows.
The pub is widely described in the press as the home of Brooklyn’s Liverpool supporters club, and reported to open early when Liverpool play. Its own site does not say either of those things, so treat it as a phone call worth making rather than a promise you can plan around.
The Black Horse Pub at 568 5th Avenue is the one room that might genuinely answer the morning problem, and it does not rest on hearsay: the Premier League’s own USA Bar Finder lists it as a bar that regularly shows Premier League matches. What we could not get is its hours. Its website returned a 403 error to us on September 23, 2026 and would not load at all, so the widely repeated claim that it opens at 10:00 AM with a full English is something to confirm on the phone. Call 718-788-1975 before you make the twenty-five minute walk.

The four Brooklyn bars the Premier League itself lists
The league runs its own USA Bar Finder, which names the bars that regularly show its matches. It is the closest thing to an official answer, and four of its New York entries are in Brooklyn.
| Bar | Address | Neighbourhood | What its own site says |
|---|---|---|---|
| The Monro Pub | 481 5th Avenue | Park Slope | Hours published; nothing about soccer |
| The Black Horse Pub | 568 5th Avenue | Park Slope | Site would not load on Sep 23, 2026 |
| Banter Bar | 132 Havemeyer Street | Williamsburg | Names the Premier League and five other leagues |
| Kent Ale House | 51 Kent Avenue | Williamsburg | “ALL soccer and rugby games as well as NFL, NCAA, NBA” |
Two things follow from that list. The first is that only two of them are in Park Slope, and neither of them is us, which is the honest shape of this neighbourhood. The second is that the two Williamsburg rooms are the ones whose own sites actually commit to showing soccer.
Where the early matches actually play
If you want a 7:30 or 10:00 AM kick-off with the sound up and a room that cares, the honest answer is that you leave Park Slope.
Banter, at 132 Havemeyer Street on the corner of South 1st in Williamsburg, states on its own site that it shows “Premier league, MLS, Bundesliga, La liga, Serie A and Ligue 1 games”. It does not publish its opening hours, so call ahead, but it is a dedicated soccer room rather than a sports bar that happens to have the football on in a corner. It is 3.2 miles from us, which is a subway ride rather than a walk.
Kent Ale House, at 51 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg, is the other league-listed Brooklyn room, and its own sports page is unusually direct about what goes on the screens: “ALL soccer and rugby games as well as NFL, NCAA, NBA, and anything else you could possibly think of.” It does not publish its opening hours either, so the same phone call applies before an early kick-off.
A warning: Woodwork has closed
When we are the right answer
We are not going to pretend to be a 7:30 AM soccer pub. Here is when the walk to 148 5th Avenue genuinely makes sense.
Best for
- The 12:30 PM Eastern Saturday match. We open at 1:00 PM, so you catch the second half and the whole afternoon that follows it.
- Monday fixtures. A 3:00 PM Eastern Monday kick-off lands exactly on our Monday opening, so you get the full ninety minutes.
- Anyone who needs a fully gluten-free kitchen. Rare in any bar, and close to unheard of in a bar showing live sport.
- Staying on after the whistle. We are open until 11:00 PM on Saturday and 10:00 PM on Sunday.
Skip if
- Your match kicks off before noon. Try Black Horse if they confirm they are open, or take the train to Williamsburg.
- You want a supporters-club room for one specific club. We are a sports bar with the Premier League on, not a club pub.
- You need commentary audio on one particular match in a busy room. Ask when you arrive rather than assuming.
Which Brooklyn bar for your match?
Two questions, sixteen answers, and most of them send you somewhere that is not us.
1. When does your match kick off?
2. What matters most?
Nowhere in Park Slope, honestly. Nothing on 5th Avenue opens for a 7:30 or 10:00 AM kick-off. The Black Horse Pub at 568 5th Avenue is the one candidate; the Premier League lists it, but its site would not load for us, so call 718-788-1975 first.
Banter Bar, 132 Havemeyer Street. On the league’s own list, and its site names the Premier League outright. Williamsburg, so take the train rather than walk.
Not us, and we would rather say so. Our gluten-free kitchen does not open until 1:00 PM. For a morning match, eat first and come to us after.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. It opens at noon at weekends, so it still misses a 10:00 AM match, but it runs to 4:00 AM once you are in.
Us, at 148 5th Avenue. A 12:30 PM Eastern kick-off and a 1:00 PM door means you catch the second half and the rest of the afternoon.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. Open from noon at weekends, on the Premier League’s own list, and twenty minutes down 5th Avenue from us.
Us, at 148 5th Avenue. The Park Slope kitchen is entirely gluten-free, so the whole menu is open to you, not a substitute list.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. Its own site publishes 4:00 AM closing every night of the week.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. An 11:30 AM Sunday match is already running when we open at 1:00 PM. The Monro is open from noon, twenty minutes away.
Kent Ale House, 51 Kent Avenue. On the league’s list, and its own sports page promises “ALL soccer and rugby games”. Williamsburg, so allow for the train.
Come to us for the second half. We open at 1:00 PM on Sunday, which catches the closing twenty minutes of an 11:30 AM match and the whole evening after it.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. Noon to 4:00 AM on Sunday by its own listing.
Us, at 148 5th Avenue. Monday matches kick off at 3:00 PM Eastern and our Monday door opens at 3:00 PM. The only fixture we can show you end to end.
The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue. Open from 2:00 PM on a Monday and on the league’s own list, so it has the kick-off covered with an hour to spare.
Us, at 148 5th Avenue. Monday, 3:00 PM, gluten-free kitchen, full ninety minutes. This is the fixture we are built for.
Us first, The Monro after. We run to 10:00 PM on a Monday; The Monro’s own site says 4:00 AM if the night is going well.
How we checked
Fixtures and kick-off times were read from premierleague.com on September 23, 2026. That page renders times in the reader’s own timezone, so every kick-off was converted to Eastern Time in code and then checked back against the UK clock; all ten matched a standard Premier League slot.
Opening hours were taken from each bar’s own website on the same day. Where a site does not publish its hours, or would not load for us, we have said so rather than filling the gap from a directory.
Walking distances were measured in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue on September 23, 2026, not estimated. Woodwork’s closure was checked by loading its former domain and its public listing on the same day.
Walks from our door at 148 5th Avenue: The Monro Pub 20 minutes, 0.9 mile. Black Horse Pub 25 minutes, 1.1 miles. Banter in Williamsburg 3.2 miles, which is a train ride.
Frequently asked questions
What time does the Premier League start in Brooklyn?
If you are planning to watch Premier League soccer in Brooklyn, expect kick-offs between 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM Eastern at weekends, with occasional Monday matches at 3:00 PM Eastern. In Matchweek 6 the earliest was 7:30 AM Eastern on Saturday October 10 and the latest weekend match was 12:30 PM Eastern.
Is The Beer Garage open for morning Premier League matches?
No. Our Park Slope room opens at 1:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, which is after most kick-offs. We are a good choice for the 12:30 PM Eastern Saturday match and for Monday fixtures at 3:00 PM Eastern.
Which Brooklyn bar opens earliest for soccer?
Of the bars that publish their hours, The Monro Pub at 481 5th Avenue opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday. The Black Horse Pub is reported to open at 10:00 AM, but its website did not load when we checked on September 23, 2026, so call 718-788-1975 first.
Which Brooklyn bars does the Premier League officially list?
Four. The Premier League’s own USA Bar Finder names The Monro Pub at 481 5th Avenue and The Black Horse Pub at 568 5th Avenue in Park Slope, and Banter Bar at 132 Havemeyer Street and Kent Ale House at 51 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg. The Beer Garage is not on that list. Note that the league files some non-New-York-City bars under its New York heading, so check where each map pin actually lands.
Is Woodwork still open?
No. The bar at 583 Vanderbilt Avenue has closed, its web domain has been sold on to a coupon site, and its listing is marked closed. A number of guides have not caught up.
Do you have gluten-free food during matches?
Yes, at Park Slope. That kitchen is entirely gluten-free, so the full menu is open to you rather than a short substitute list. Our West Village location is a standard kitchen and its menu does not label any dish as gluten-free.
The verdict
Brooklyn is a good borough in which to watch Premier League soccer, and Park Slope is a poor neighbourhood for the early half of it. Before noon, go to a pub that opens for breakfast or take the train to Williamsburg. From 12:30 PM Eastern onward, and all day Monday, the walk to 148 5th Avenue is worth making, and it is the only one of these rooms where the kitchen is entirely gluten-free.
We open at 1:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday and 3:00 PM Monday to Thursday, at 148 5th Avenue in Park Slope, entrance on Douglass Street. The kitchen is 100% gluten-free.
