Cider · Park Slope · Updated October 13, 2026
Twelve Park Slope bars print a cider. Half of them pour the same one.
We read every drinks list the bars around Park Slope publish and pulled out the ciders: which brand, which cidery, what a glass costs, and whether the list says when it was last changed. Hudson North is on six of them.
- Twelve bars with a cider on their own menus
- Prices from $5 to $17
- Walks measured from 148 5th Avenue
- One bar with fifteen ciders and perries
- Park Slope kitchen: every plate gluten-free
There is no dedicated cider bar in Park Slope, so finding a cider bar in Park Slope means finding the beer bars that take cider seriously. On September 29 and 30, 2026 we read the drinks lists the neighborhood’s bars publish, on their own sites and the menu services they embed, and wrote down every cider by name and price.
Twelve bars list one or more. The most common is Hudson North, listed at six; the widest choice is at The Owl Farm, with four on draft and eleven bottles in its cider cellar; and the cheapest cider is $5, at High Dive. Our own room, The Beer Garage in Park Slope, does not publish its cider, and the table says so.
For the widest choice, The Owl Farm at 297 9th Street lists four draft ciders and eleven bottles of cider and perry, from a German apfelwein to an English Kingston Black, on a list updated October 1, 2026. For the lowest price, High Dive at 243 5th Avenue lists Woodchuck Pearsecco and Downeast Cider Donut at $5 on a list dated September 30, seven minutes from our door.
For New York cider, Hudson North is on six lists, from $8 at Whisk & Whiskey to $9 at Drums & Flats and Skylark. Wölffer’s dry rosé cider, also from New York, is on three, at $11 and $12.
Cider is fermented from apples, not barley or wheat, which is why it is the usual order for a guest who avoids gluten at a beer bar. None of these twelve lists labels a cider gluten-free, though, and a shared draft system or a flavored blend can change the answer, so ask for the can or check the cidery’s own label if it matters.
At 148 5th Avenue the food side needs no questions: the Park Slope menu is printed as fully gluten-free. That is our Park Slope kitchen only; the West Village kitchen is a standard one.
Cider bar in Park Slope: twelve bars and their ciders
Sorted by walk from 148 5th Avenue in Google Maps walking mode. Prices are for a standard glass or can as printed; where a list names a cider without a price, the column says so.
| Bar | Walk from us | Ciders listed | Price printed |

| The Owl Farm, 297 9th St | 18 minutes | Four on draft: Art + Science Humble, Fuchshof Most, Shacksbury Arlo and Stowe Double Dry; eleven ciders and perries in bottles in its cider cellar | Draft not printed; bottles $25 to $60 |
| Brewer’s Row, 228 7th Ave | 18 minutes | Graft and Hudson North | Priced by the pour; $16 flight |
| Skylark, 477 5th Ave | 20 minutes | Hudson North Dry | $9, on a page dated April 3, 2024 |
| Barbès, 376 9th St | 22 minutes | Downeast Double Blend; Galipette Brut, a Basque cider | $8; $8 |
Three things stand out. Within ten minutes of us, High Dive prints six ciders with a price on every one, and The Commissioner and Whisk & Whiskey print three each. Only The Owl Farm, Barbès and High Dive list a cider from outside the United States, and The Owl Farm lists the most by far: four on draft and eleven bottles. And the lowest price is now $5, at High Dive on 5th Avenue, seven minutes from our door; Gowanus Gardens and The Commissioner follow at $7.
The ciders on the most Park Slope lists
Counted once per bar, however many versions a bar pours.
| Cidery | From, as printed | Lists | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hudson North | New York | 6 | Drums & Flats, High Dive, Whisk & Whiskey, Park Slope Ale House, Brewer’s Row, Skylark |
| Shacksbury | Not printed | 4 | The Commissioner, Whisk & Whiskey, Gowanus Gardens, The Owl Farm |
| Wölffer | New York | 3 | The Commissioner, Whisk & Whiskey, The Gate |
| Downeast | Not printed | 3 | Gowanus Gardens, Barbès, High Dive |
| Dupont | France | 2 | High Dive, The Owl Farm |
| One list each | Various | 1 | Citizen, Austin Eastciders, Graft, Galipette, Woodchuck, Brooklyn, and The Owl Farm’s other draft and cellar ciders |
So the default Park Slope cider is a New York one: eight of the twelve bars pour Hudson North or Wölffer, both marked as New York ciders on the lists that print an origin.
Our cider, honestly
The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue does not publish its Park Slope drinks list, cider included; our homepage describes a rotating selection of craft beer sourced locally, and that is as far as it goes. On the test this page sets, we score a blank, and we would rather say so than guess at our own tap handles.
What we can point to is our Manhattan room, which lists a cider at $10 and an apple cider spritz at $13 on its online menu, without naming the cidery. In Park Slope, the useful part is the plate beside the glass: every dish from the kitchen is gluten-free, and our OpenTable listing prints $7 drafts and $1.50 oysters and clams from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday. Call 718-576-3409 to ask which cider is on.
Which bar for which cider
Four bars, four different reasons to go. Each line comes from the bar’s own list.
The Owl Farm, 297 9th Street. Eighteen minutes from us.
- Best for range: four draft ciders and eleven bottles of cider and perry in its cellar, on a list updated October 1, 2026.
- Skip if you want a price on a glass: the cellar bottles run $25 to $60, and the draft ciders are not priced.
The Commissioner, 247 5th Avenue. Seven minutes from us.
- Best for choice close by: three ciders, from Shacksbury Arlo at $7 to Wölffer’s dry rosé at $11, all priced.
- Skip if you want a Hudson North; it is not on this list.
Gowanus Gardens, 256 4th Avenue. Eight minutes from us.
- Best for a cheap glass near 4th Avenue: Downeast on tap at $7, a Shacksbury rosé can at $7 and a cider spritz with Prosecco at $11.
- Skip if you want a dry or European cider; both of its ciders are American.
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. Our own room, entrance on Douglass Street.
- Best for a cider with food nobody has to question: a fully gluten-free kitchen and $1.50 oysters at happy hour.
- Skip if you choose by the list online; we do not post ours. Call and ask.

Every glass here is for guests 21 and over with ID. The ciders on these lists run from about 4.5 to 7.3 per cent, as strong as most of the beer beside them, and Barbès’ Downeast Double Blend is the strongest printed at 7.3. Pace a flight the way you would a beer one.
Before you go
Not every “cider” is a cider. The Gate lists Hudson Valley’s Silhouette, flavored with apple cider donut; it is a sour ale brewed from grain, not a cider.
Lists age. The Owl Farm’s list was updated October 1 and High Dive’s is dated September 30, but Skylark’s menu page still says April 3, 2024, so treat its Hudson North as a likely rather than a certainty.
Prices depend on the pour. Brewer’s Row prices each pour size separately and offers a $16 flight, so a small cider there is not a pint.
Not every price is printed. The Owl Farm prices its cellar bottles but not its draft ciders, and The Gate prints no price for its Wölffer; call if the price matters.

How we checked
On September 29 and 30, 2026 we read the drinks list each bar in and around Park Slope publishes, on its own site or the menu service it embeds, and recorded every cider by name, origin where printed, and price. We counted each cidery once per bar. A bar with no published cider is not in the table; that does not mean it pours none. On October 2 we read all twelve lists again: The Owl Farm’s draft list had changed, and we added the bottles in its cider cellar.
Walks were measured in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue. For our own room we used our homepage, our West Village online menu and our OpenTable listing. No bar paid to appear.
A cider and a gluten-free plate
The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217, entrance on Douglass Street. $7 drafts and $1.50 oysters from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday; open until 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Our Manhattan room is at 118 Christopher Street in the West Village, 646-490-4301, and lists a cider at $10; its kitchen is standard, not gluten-free.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a cider bar in Park Slope?
Not a dedicated one. Twelve Park Slope bars list cider on their own menus, and The Owl Farm at 297 9th Street lists the most, four on draft and eleven bottles in its cider cellar, on a list updated October 1, 2026.
Where is the cheapest cider in Park Slope?
High Dive at 243 5th Avenue lists Woodchuck Pearsecco and Downeast Cider Donut at $5 on a list dated September 30, 2026. Gowanus Gardens at 256 4th Avenue and The Commissioner at 247 5th Avenue follow at $7.
Which Park Slope bars pour New York cider?
Hudson North is on six lists: Drums & Flats, High Dive, Whisk & Whiskey, Park Slope Ale House, Brewer’s Row and Skylark. Wölffer’s dry rosé is at The Commissioner, Whisk & Whiskey and The Gate, and Brewer’s Row also pours Graft.
Is cider gluten-free?
Cider is fermented from apples rather than barley or wheat, so most ciders contain no gluten, but none of the twelve Park Slope lists labels one gluten-free and flavored blends vary. Check the cidery’s label if you have celiac disease.
Where can I find European cider in Park Slope?
The Owl Farm lists a German Most from Fuchshof on draft and a Kingston Black made from English apples in its cider cellar, Barbès lists Galipette Brut, a Basque cider, at $8, and High Dive lists Dupont Bouché, a French cider, at $17.
Does The Beer Garage in Park Slope serve cider?
The Park Slope drinks list is not published, so call 718-576-3409 to ask which cider is pouring. The kitchen is fully gluten-free. The West Village location lists a cider at $10 and an apple cider spritz at $13.
The verdict
A cider bar in Park Slope is really a beer bar with a good cider list. The Owl Farm is the one for range, The Commissioner and Whisk & Whiskey for three priced choices close to 5th Avenue, High Dive for the lowest price, $5, and Gowanus Gardens for a $7 glass. If you only want a New York cider, Hudson North is almost everywhere.
We are the bar on this page without a published list, and we would rather you knew. Come for the gluten-free plate, and call ahead if the cider is the point.
