Events · Park Slope · Trivia · Updated October 22, 2026
Park Slope has a quiz on Monday, two on Wednesday and one on Thursday. Tuesday, Friday and the weekend are empty.
We read the websites of 28 bars in Park Slope and Gowanus on October 22, 2026, plus our own OpenTable listing, and kept only the trivia nights each bar prints itself, with the night, the start time and the walk from our door.
- 4 weekly trivia nights printed
- 28 bar websites read October 22, 2026
- Mon, Wed, Wed, Thu
- Walks from 148 5th Avenue, measured
- Our Thursday quiz comes with a fully gluten-free kitchen
A trivia night in Park Slope is easy to find if you only want one, and hard to plan if you want a particular night. Plenty of guides list bars that “do trivia”, but the bars themselves are the only ones who know which night, what time and whether it still runs. So we went to the bars’ own websites and wrote down what they say.
Out of 28 sites, four print a weekly quiz, and one of them is ours. Below is the week laid out night by night, what each quiz promises in its own words, the walk from our Park Slope door, and the bars whose sites say nothing about trivia, including one that says no in writing.
Four bars in and around Park Slope print a weekly trivia night on their own websites: Gowanus Gardens on Mondays at 7:30 PM, Uncle Barry’s on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM, Rullo’s on Wednesdays at 8:00 PM, and The Beer Garage Park Slope on Thursdays at 7:30 PM, free to play, per our OpenTable listing. All were read on October 22, 2026.
None of the 28 sites we read prints a trivia night on a Tuesday, Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Of the four quiz bars, only ours prints a menu under a 100% gluten-free heading, so the wings, burgers and every other plate at The Beer Garage Park Slope are safe for a celiac teammate on Thursday trivia night.
A trivia night in Park Slope, night by night
This is the whole week as the bars print it. The hours column is the bar’s own opening hours for that day, so you can see how much of the night is left once the last round ends. Walks are from our door at 148 5th Avenue, in Google Maps walking mode.
| Night | Bar | Address | Quiz starts | Bar hours that night | Prize printed | From 148 5th Ave |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Monday | Gowanus Gardens | 256 4th Ave | 7:30 PM | 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM; kitchen until 1:00 AM | None on its calendar | 8 min, 0.4 mi |
| Tuesday | No trivia night printed on any of the 28 sites | |||||
| Wednesday | Uncle Barry’s | 58 5th Ave | 8:00 PM | 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM | None on its site | 5 min, 0.2 mi |
| Wednesday | Rullo’s | 560 5th Ave | 8:00 PM | 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM | $50 bar gift certificate for the winning team | 25 min, 1.1 mi |
| Thursday | The Beer Garage Park Slope | 148 5th Ave | 7:30 PM | 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM | Free to play; no prize stated | Our room |
| Friday to Sunday | No trivia night printed on any of the 28 sites | |||||
Two things stand out. Wednesday is the only night with a choice, and the two Wednesday quizzes sit at opposite ends of 5th Avenue, one by Barclays Center and one in the South Slope. And the Thursday quiz is the only one that starts in the same hour as a happy hour ends: ours runs Monday to Thursday until 7:00 PM, half an hour before the first question.
The four quizzes, bar by bar
Each description below uses only what the bar publishes. Where a site leaves something out, such as a prize or a team size, we say so rather than fill it in.
Monday: Gowanus Gardens, 256 4th Avenue
The calendar page at Gowanus Gardens lists “Trivia Mondays” (“Every Monday at 7:30 pm”) at the top of its upcoming events, with a link for reservations and information. The bar prints Monday to Friday hours of 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM, a kitchen open until 1:00 AM every day, and a heated, covered patio. Two house rules matter on a quiz night: it is 21 and over after 8:00 PM, and no pets, citing city health rules. It is eight minutes from our door, down Douglass Street to 4th Avenue.
Wednesday: Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue
Uncle Barry’s has the most to say about its quiz. Its site calls it “an original trivia night featuring questions written in-house for more than a decade”, adds “no recycled trivia packages”, and lists it every Wednesday at 8:00 PM. The bar is open 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM Monday to Thursday and also offers free darts, live sports and a backyard. It does not print a prize. At five minutes from us, by Barclays Center, it is the closest quiz to our door.
Wednesday: Rullo’s, 560 5th Avenue
The events page at Rullo’s lists “Wednesday 8 p.m.: Trivia” among its weekly nights, and its event listings describe Smarty Pints pub trivia: “Winning team gets a $50 bar gift certificate”, a name-that-cocktail bonus round, and “never a cover to play”. It is the only quiz of the four that prints a prize.
One caution: the newest dated trivia entry on that page is Wednesday, February 26, 2025, so confirm it is still running before you build a night around it. Rullo’s opens at 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday and closes at 2:00 AM, with pinball and Sunday karaoke. It is 25 minutes from us on foot, in the South Slope.
Thursday: The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue
Our own listing on OpenTable says it plainly: “Thursdays at 7:30 PM, test your knowledge at free trivia night.” The same listing gives our happy hour as Monday to Thursday, 3:00 to 7:00 PM, with $1.50 oysters and clams and $7 draft beers. More on how that night really runs is in the next section.
Our Thursday quiz, honestly
The Beer Garage Park Slope is at 148 5th Avenue, with the entrance on Douglass Street. On Thursdays we open at 3:00 PM and close at 10:00 PM, per our website footer, so the quiz has two and a half hours of room after the 7:30 PM start. That is enough for a full game and dinner, but it is not a late night: if your team wants to keep going after the last round, Uncle Barry’s is five minutes away and open until 2:00 AM.
What we do not publish matters too. Our OpenTable listing says the trivia is free, but it names no prize, no host, no team size and no booking rule, and our own website does not mention trivia at all as of October 22, 2026. Call 718-576-3409 before a big group comes, and ask about a table. The kitchen is the part we can promise: the Park Slope menu is printed under a 100% gluten-free heading, which none of the other three quiz bars offers.
Bars whose sites print no trivia night
Most Park Slope bars do not put a quiz on their websites. We read the home page of each, plus its events, calendar or specials page where we found one, on October 22, 2026.
- The Dram Shop, 339 9th Street, says no in writing. Its FAQ asks “Do you feature trivia nights?” and answers “No.” It is a fine room for games and darts, just not for a quiz.
- Freddy’s, 627 5th Avenue, had a one-off. Its calendar listed a trivia and karaoke birthday party on Sunday, October 18, 2026, next to a comedy open mic every Monday and Wednesday, but no weekly quiz.
- Whisk and Whiskey hosts trivia privately. Its private-events inquiry template lists trivia nights among the events it can host for a booked group, not as a public night.
- No trivia on the site: McMahon’s Public House, The LayUp Bar, Union Hall, Fourth Avenue Pub, The Commissioner, High Dive, The Double Windsor, The Owl Farm, LoFi, Saint Eves, Bar Louise, 390 Social, Blueprint, Brookvin, Commonwealth, Drums and Flats, Bonnie’s, Prospect Bar and Grill, Skylark, Park Slope Ale House, Lowlands and Ginger’s.
- Two sites would not load: The Gate returned a server error and Pacific Standard did not open for us, so we cannot say what they run.
Older trivia roundups also name The Sackett. Its web address now shows an online gambling page, so we do not link it, and we could not confirm a quiz there.
Four picks for four kinds of player
Each pick rests on what the bar prints about its own quiz.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue. Five minutes from us.
- Best for players who hate recycled questions: written in-house for more than a decade, by its own description, every Wednesday at 8:00 PM.
- Skip if you want a printed prize; it does not list one.
Rullo’s, 560 5th Avenue. Twenty-five minutes from us.
- Best for a team that plays to win something: a $50 bar gift certificate, and no cover.
- Skip if you will not phone ahead; its newest dated trivia listing is from February 2025.
Gowanus Gardens, 256 4th Avenue. Eight minutes from us.
- Best for starting the week: the only Monday quiz we found, with a kitchen open until 1:00 AM.
- Skip if anyone in the group is under 21; the bar is 21 and over after 8:00 PM.
The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue. Our own room.
- Best for a free Thursday quiz with a fully gluten-free kitchen, straight after a happy hour that ends at 7:00 PM.
- Skip if your team stays out late; we close at 10:00 PM on Thursdays.

Every quiz on this page is in a bar that serves alcohol, on a weeknight. Bring a photo ID showing you are 21 or older, pace the rounds with food and water, and plan the ride home before the final round.
Before you go: five checks
- Confirm the night. Bar calendars change with the seasons and with the sports schedule; a quiz can move or pause for a big game.
- Ask about team size. None of the four sites prints a team limit, so ask before you bring eight people.
- Book if you can. Gowanus Gardens links to reservations from its trivia listing; for ours, call 718-576-3409.
- Arrive before the start. Tables fill before the first round, and late teams usually lose the first set of answers.
- Check the age rule. Gowanus Gardens is 21 and over after 8:00 PM; ask the others if anyone in your group is younger.
Find your quiz
Pick the night you are free, then what matters most. Each of the sixteen answers names a bar from this page.

How we checked
On October 22, 2026 we opened the websites of 28 bars in Park Slope and Gowanus and searched each home page, and its events, calendar or specials page where we found one, for a trivia night. We kept a bar only if its own site names a night and a start time. Our own quiz is from our OpenTable listing, read the same day. Walks were measured in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue: Gowanus Gardens and Rullo’s on October 22, 2026, and Uncle Barry’s and The Dram Shop in our earlier Park Slope guides.
It does not promise that any quiz runs on a given night, and it does not rate hosts or questions; nobody visited a quiz for this guide. Bars that only post trivia on social media are not counted, because we cannot date those posts reliably.
No bar paid to be included or asked to be left out. The Beer Garage is ours, as the byline says.
