Happy hour · Park Slope · Updated September 29, 2026
Thirty-three bar websites. Nineteen print a happy hour.
A happy hour is only useful if you know when it starts, when it stops and what it takes off the bill. We read the websites of the bars around Park Slope to see which ones actually say, and we put ours through the same test.
- Thirty-seven Park Slope bars looked up September 29, 2026
- Nineteen websites print a window and prices
- Walks measured from 148 5th Avenue
- Prices as printed, before tax and tip
- Park Slope kitchen: every plate gluten-free
Happy hour in Park Slope is easy to find and hard to pin down. Almost every bar on 5th Avenue has one, or had one, or has a chalkboard that mentions one. What most of them do not have is a web page that tells you the hours and the prices before you walk over.
So on September 29, 2026 we looked up thirty-seven bars in and around Park Slope, found thirty-three websites, and read every menu, specials page, FAQ and menu PDF on them. Nineteen print a happy hour with days, times and prices. One shows only a photo of a sign. Thirteen print nothing about it, and four have no website at all. Our own, The Beer Garage in Park Slope, is in the table too, taken from our own booking listing, with its weak spots left in.
The earliest and deepest discount belongs to The Dram Shop at 339 9th Street: half off pints of draft, well drinks and wine from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays and until 3:00 PM on Saturday. For oysters, three bars print $1.50 each: The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue, Monday to Thursday 3:00 to 7:00 PM; Bar Louise at 221 7th Avenue on Mondays; and 390 Social at 390 5th Avenue, Tuesday to Friday and Sunday.
For a later start, High Dive at 243 5th Avenue and LoFi Bar at 341 2nd Street run to 8:00 PM on weekdays, and Bar Louise keeps its Monday happy hour going until 11:00 PM. At the weekend the list shrinks to seven bars, none of them us.
At 148 5th Avenue the whole Park Slope menu is printed under the words “100% gluten-free”, so the $1.50 oysters and clams come out of the same kitchen as everything else and nobody at the table has to ask. That is our Park Slope room only; our West Village kitchen on Christopher Street is a standard one. Beer is brewed from barley unless the label says otherwise, so ask at the bar about the drafts.
Of the nineteen other happy-hour menus we read, one labels dishes gluten-free: 390 Social marks its $5 olives and $8 deviled eggs GF. Gowanus Gardens lists a gluten-free Daura Damm lager among its bottles, which its $1-off happy hour covers.
Happy hour in Park Slope: who prints the times and prices
The table is sorted by walk from our door at 148 5th Avenue, measured in Google Maps walking mode. The deals are copied as each bar prints them, including the odd phrasing. Where a bar prints a discount instead of a price, the table keeps the discount.

| The Double Windsor, 210 Prospect Park West | 39 minutes, 1.7 miles | Monday to Friday, 5:00 to 7:00 PM | $1 off draft beer, wine and well drinks |
One more bar almost made the table. Drums & Flats at 56 5th Avenue, six minutes from us, prints no happy hour in words, but its photo gallery holds an undated picture, captioned happy hour, of a letter board offering $2 fries with a drink, Monday to Friday, 4 to 6. A photo of a sign is not a published offer, so we left it out of the count.
Happy hour by day of the week
Most Park Slope happy hours are a weekday thing, and the week is lopsided. Wednesday and Thursday each have twenty printed happy hours to choose from. Saturday has four.
| Day | How many | Bars with a printed happy hour that day |
|---|---|---|
| Monday | 16 | The Beer Garage 3–7, Blueprint 4–6, Union Hall 4–7, High Dive 3–8, The Commissioner to 6, Gowanus Gardens 3–7, Fourth Avenue Pub to 7, LoFi to 8, The Owl Farm 4–7, Bar Louise 3:30–11, The Dram Shop 11–6, Commonwealth 3–7, Rullo’s 5–7, Brookvin all day, Saint Eves 5–7, The Double Windsor 5–7 |
| Tuesday | 19 | Monday’s list, plus 390 Social 5–7, Park Slope Ale House 4–6 and Prospect Bar and Grill 3–7; Brookvin runs until 7 and Bar Louise until 5:30 or 6 |
| Wednesday | 20 | Tuesday’s list, plus Whisk & Whiskey 3–7 |
| Thursday | 20 | The same as Wednesday; our trivia night starts at 7:30 PM, half an hour after our happy hour ends |
| Friday | 17 | The Beer Garage, The Commissioner and Saint Eves drop out; Park Slope Ale House starts at noon, 390 Social and Rullo’s start earlier |
| Saturday | 4 | The Dram Shop 11–3, Fourth Avenue Pub 1–4, Bar Louise 1–4 for oysters, Brookvin to 5 |
| Sunday | 6 | Whisk & Whiskey all day, Fourth Avenue Pub 1–4, Bar Louise 1–4, Rullo’s 1–4, Brookvin to 5, 390 Social 4–7 |
Monday deserves its own note. Park Slope Ale House, Whisk & Whiskey and 390 Social are closed, but Bar Louise and Brookvin both run happy hour all day, so Monday and Sunday, when Whisk & Whiskey runs happy hour all day, are the only days a printed discount lasts past 8:00 PM.
The cheapest pint, pour and oyster
Discounts are easier to compare once they are turned back into prices. This table takes the lowest figure printed for each thing people usually order, and says where the figure comes with a catch.
| What you order | Lowest printed | Where, and the catch |
|---|---|---|
| Draft beer, flat price | $5 | Rullo’s draft lager, from a happy hour graphic its site files under November 2024. Next: $6 at Blueprint, Whisk & Whiskey and Saint Eves (a Peroni) |
| Draft beer, discount | Half off | The Dram Shop, every pint of draft. Its menu prices a Narragansett at $7 and a Guinness at $10. Commonwealth prints “$4 or less” |
| Well drink | $5 | High Dive and Prospect Bar and Grill. The Dram Shop takes half off its wells but does not print the full price |
| Glass of wine | $6 | Prospect Bar and Grill house red or white. Union Hall and Whisk & Whiskey pour at $8 |
| Cocktail | $9 | Rullo’s back-to-basics list. Whisk & Whiskey pours two house cocktails at $10; The Dram Shop pours frozen ones at $10 |
| Oysters | $1.50 each | The Beer Garage (with clams), Monday to Thursday; Bar Louise on Mondays; 390 Social, $1.55 by card |
| Wings | $2 each | Saint Eves. The Dram Shop puts four wings on its $7.75 snack menu, $1.50 under its $9.25 menu price. Park Slope Ale House prints $12 with no count |
| Something to eat | $5 | Tater tots or fried pickle chips at Park Slope Ale House. The Dram Shop’s snack menu, all at $7.75, includes a bar burger and small nachos |
Two of those lowest prices come from pages that look older than the rest, Rullo’s 2024 graphic and Commonwealth’s “$4 or less”, so treat them as a reason to ask rather than a promise.
Our happy hour, honestly
We hold our own room to the same rules. The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue runs happy hour Monday to Thursday from 3:00 PM, when the doors open, until 7:00 PM. That is four of the seven hours we are open on those days. The deal, as our OpenTable listing prints it, is $1.50 oysters and clams and $7 draft beers.
The oysters are the part that holds up. The regular menu on our website charges $4 an oyster or clam, six at least, so the six that cost $24 at 8:00 PM cost $9 at 4:00 PM. A dozen is $18 instead of $48. Of the happy-hour menus we read, ours is the only one that prices clams by the piece.
The beer is where we are ordinary. We do not publish a regular Park Slope draft price anywhere, so we cannot tell you what the $7 saves, and $7 is more than the $5 and $6 drafts printed a few blocks away. We also run no happy hour Friday to Sunday. And our Google listing gives the start as 2:00 PM, which is an hour before we open on those days; 3:00 PM is when you can actually get a seat.
What you get that the others do not print is the kitchen. Every plate on the Park Slope menu is gluten-free, so the table can add wings or nachos to the oysters without a separate conversation. Thursday’s free trivia starts at 7:30 PM, half an hour after the discount stops. Our room on Christopher Street prints its own happy-hour prices, $8 drinks and $12 plates, but not its hours; that one is covered in our West Village guide.
Which happy hour for which evening
No single bar wins every evening. These four are the ones whose printed terms fit a particular plan best; each line comes from the bar’s own site or, for us, our own listing.
The Dram Shop, 339 9th Street. Nineteen minutes from us, and the earliest and deepest discount in the neighborhood.
- Best for an afternoon off: half-price pints, wells and wine from 11:00 AM on weekdays and on Saturday until 3:00 PM, $5 mimosas, and a $7.75 snack menu with four wings, a bar burger or small nachos. Its FAQ also offers gluten-free burger bread.
- Skip if you want it to go or on a holiday: its calendar says every happy hour is dine-in only, and its FAQ says holidays are excluded. The Sunday version is paused during football season.
Bar Louise, 221 7th Avenue. Nineteen minutes from us, and the answer to a Monday.
- Best for a long Monday: happy hour runs from 3:30 to 11:00 PM with $1.50 oysters, $10 wine and spritzes and $14 martinis, and at the weekend a house martini drops to $10 when you order oysters.
- Skip if you are aiming for a weekday finish at 6:00 PM on the dot. Its homepage says 5:30 PM and the poster on its specials page says 6:00 PM, so arrive by 5:30.
High Dive, 243 5th Avenue. Seven minutes from us, with the longest weekday window on 5th Avenue.
- Best for getting out of work late: 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Monday to Friday, $5 wells and $1 off everything else, according to the beer menu it dated September 27, 2026.
- Skip if you go by its homepage, which still shows an older offer with $3 PBR, or if you want food with it: the happy hour it prints is drinks only.
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. Our own room, entrance on Douglass Street.
- Best for oysters and clams at $1.50 from the moment the doors open, Monday to Thursday until 7:00 PM, in a room where every plate is gluten-free.
- Skip if it is Friday or the weekend, when we run no happy hour, or if the cheapest pint is the whole point; $7 is not it.

Every drink on this page is for guests who are 21 or over and can show ID, and a half-price pint is the same size as a full-price one. If the plan is three bars before 7:00 PM, eat something at the first, count the rounds, and settle how everyone is getting home before the second one.
Before you go: five warnings
Some pages are older than others. High Dive’s homepage still advertises $3 PBR and $4 wells while its dated beer menu says $5 wells. Rullo’s happy-hour graphic is filed under November 2024. Fourth Avenue Pub prints its weekend offer on a promotions page and its weekday one only at the top of its beer list. Commonwealth’s “$4 or less” would be the lowest flat draft price in the neighborhood.
Two bars print two versions. Bar Louise ends its weekday happy hour at 5:30 PM on its homepage and 6:00 PM on its poster. Blueprint’s happy-hour page says Monday to Friday, while the hours box beside it lists happy hour under Monday to Thursday only.
The Dram Shop has fine print. Dine-in only, not on holidays, and no Sunday happy hour during football season.
390 Social prices two ways. Each item has a cash or debit price and a card price about 3 per cent higher, so $1.50 oysters are $1.55 on a card.
Our own listings disagree. As above, Google shows our happy hour from 2:00 PM, and we open at 3:00 PM Monday to Thursday. Go by the door: 3:00 PM.
Bars that print no happy hour
These bars’ own websites say nothing about a happy hour on any page we could open. That does not prove they have none. It means you will find out at the bar.
- Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue; The LayUp Bar, 47 5th Avenue; McMahon’s Public House, 39 5th Avenue, whose drinks menus did not load even in a browser; The Gate, 321 5th Avenue.
- Skylark, 477 5th Avenue; The Monro Pub, 481 5th Avenue; Young Ethel’s, 506 5th Avenue; Freddy’s Bar, 627 5th Avenue, where the “Happy Meal” is a $9 beer and shot, not a happy hour.
- Barbès, 376 9th Street; The Armory, 149 4th Avenue; Brewer’s Row, 228 7th Avenue; American Cheez, 444 7th Avenue, whose site is a holding page; Black Horse Pub, 568 5th Avenue, whose homepage refuses visitors.
- No website found: Logan’s Run, Smith’s Tavern, Buttermilk Bar and Paddy’s of Park Slope.
One trap here: The Gate’s old web address now forwards to an unrelated site. Its real page lives on its menu provider, and it lists a tap list and hours but no happy hour.

How we checked
On September 29, 2026 we searched Google Maps for bars with a happy hour in Park Slope, left out the restaurants and the bars outside the neighborhood, added three bars from our earlier Park Slope guides, and ended with thirty-seven. We read each one’s own website: the homepage, every menu, specials, events, FAQ and hours page, and every menu PDF or image linked from them. Where a happy hour was printed only inside an image, we read the image. Where a site gave two versions, the table shows both or says which is newer.
We did not use review sites or listing sites for any bar but our own. For our room we used our OpenTable listing and our Google listing, and the regular prices on the menu PDF on our website. Walks were measured in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue. No bar paid to appear.
Oysters and clams at $1.50, Monday to Thursday
The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217, entrance on Douglass Street. Happy hour 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday; open until 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
Our Manhattan room is at 118 Christopher Street in the West Village, 646-490-4301. It prints its own happy-hour prices; its kitchen is standard, not gluten-free.
Frequently asked questions
Where is the best happy hour in Park Slope?
It depends on the hour. The Dram Shop at 339 9th Street prints the deepest discount, half off pints, wells and wine, from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM on weekdays. High Dive at 243 5th Avenue runs the longest weekday window on 5th Avenue, 3:00 to 8:00 PM. For oysters, The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue sells them at $1.50 with clams, Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM.
Which Park Slope bars have a happy hour on the weekend?
Seven print one. On Saturday: The Dram Shop until 3:00 PM, Fourth Avenue Pub and Bar Louise from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, and Brookvin until 5:00 PM. On Sunday: Whisk & Whiskey all day, 390 Social from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, Rullo’s from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, and Fourth Avenue Pub, Bar Louise and Brookvin again. The Dram Shop’s Sunday happy hour is paused during football season.
Where can I get $1.50 oysters in Park Slope?
Three bars print that price. The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue, Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, clams included. Bar Louise at 221 7th Avenue on Mondays. And 390 Social at 390 5th Avenue, Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 PM and Friday and Sunday from 4:00 PM, $1.55 by card. All three were read on September 29, 2026.
Which Park Slope happy hour starts earliest and which runs latest?
The Dram Shop starts earliest, at 11:00 AM on weekdays and Saturday. Park Slope Ale House starts at noon on Friday. The latest is Bar Louise on Monday, until 11:00 PM; Brookvin also runs all day Monday and Whisk & Whiskey all day Sunday. On other weekdays, High Dive and LoFi Bar run until 8:00 PM.
Does The Beer Garage in Park Slope have a happy hour?
Yes. Our OpenTable listing gives it as Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, with $1.50 oysters and clams and $7 draft beers. The regular price is $4 an oyster or clam. There is no happy hour Friday to Sunday. Our Google listing says 2:00 PM, but the bar opens at 3:00 PM on those days.
Is there a gluten-free happy hour in Park Slope?
The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue runs a kitchen whose printed menu is 100 per cent gluten-free, so its happy hour oysters and clams and every plate come from it. Among the other happy-hour menus we read, 390 Social labels its olives and deviled eggs gluten-free, and the Gowanus Gardens drinks list includes Daura Damm, listed as gluten-free, though its brewer describes it as a barley beer crafted to remove gluten. Beer is not gluten-free unless labeled.
The verdict
Happy hour in Park Slope is plentiful from Monday to Thursday and thin after that, and a little over half the bars we looked up bother to print theirs. The Dram Shop wins on price and on starting early, Bar Louise owns Monday, and High Dive covers the late finish. Bar Louise and 390 Social match our oyster price, and 390 Social does it on Friday and Sunday, when we do not.
Where we stand out is narrower and, for some tables, decisive: $1.50 oysters and clams four days a week in a kitchen where every plate is gluten-free. If the cheapest pint is the goal, this page has shown you where to go instead.
