A good date night bar in Brooklyn does three things before you even sit down: it lets you know whether you can book, what a drink costs and how late you can stay. So on September 30, 2026 we opened the websites of thirteen rooms that keep turning up on Brooklyn date lists and wrote down exactly that, plus how long each takes to reach from our Park Slope door on a Saturday evening.

The spread is wider than the neighborhoods suggest. Two cocktails start at $30 in Bed-Stuy and reach $50 on a DUMBO rooftop, and three of the thirteen will not take a booking at all. For the rooms inside Park Slope itself, see our guide to a date night bar in Park Slope; this page covers the rest of the borough, with The Beer Garage in Park Slope as the starting point.

Short answer

For a view, Bar Blondeau on the sixth floor of the Wythe Hotel overlooks Manhattan, calls itself a place for date nights, books tables for up to six on Resy and prints cocktails from $19. For music, Bar Bayeux in Prospect Lefferts Gardens has jazz sets at 8:00 and 9:30 PM with no cover, 21 minutes from Park Slope.

For the celebrated room, Bar Madonna and Maison Premiere in Williamsburg are both on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026, at No. 36 and No. 40; both book on Resy, and two cocktails cost $38 and $42. The closest is Grand Army on State Street, 13 minutes by bus, with cocktails from $18.

A date who eats gluten-free

A shared plate is where a gluten-free date usually goes wrong, and a cocktail list says nothing about the kitchen. Bar LunÀtico’s dinner menu, for one, marks its dishes “gf”, which helps, though a label is not the same as a kitchen that keeps gluten out altogether.

Ours is the second kind, but only at 148 5th Avenue: the Park Slope menu is printed as fully gluten-free, oysters included. Our West Village kitchen at 118 Christopher Street is a standard one.

Sorted by travel time from 148 5th Avenue: Google Maps’ fastest public transit option for a Saturday leaving at 7:00 PM. “Getting a table” is the room’s own policy; where its site says nothing, the column says so.

Hotel Delmano, 82 Berry St Williamsburg 54 minutes by transit Not stated on its site 2:00 AM

Three things stand out. Eight of the thirteen take bookings, three say plainly that they do not (Sunken Harbor Club, Bar Bayeux and Bar LunÀtico), and two say nothing either way. Four of the five Williamsburg rooms stay open until 2:00 AM at the weekend, and Williamsburg is also the longest trip on the page, 46 to 54 minutes. The five rooms within 20 minutes are all in Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Downtown Brooklyn.

What two cocktails cost

The cheapest cocktail each room prints on its own menu, doubled, before tax and tip. It is a floor, not an average: most rooms have drinks above it, and a few have cheaper hours.

Lowest cocktail price printed on each room’s own menu, read September 30, 2026, and the cost of two, sorted from lowest.
Room Cheapest cocktail printed Two of them A cheaper hour, as printed
Bar LunÀtico $15 $30, plus a suggested $10 each in cash for the band 5:00 to 7:00 PM daily, classic cocktails $10
Hotel Delmano $15, on a menu file dated November 2022 $30, if still current None printed
The Long Island Bar $18; the martini is $20 $36 None printed
Clover Club $18 $36 4:00 to 6:00 PM Monday to Friday, classics $10 and oysters half price
Sunken Harbor Club $18 $36 None printed
Grand Army $18 $36 Happy hours every day, times on its homepage
Bar Madonna $19, every cocktail $38 None printed
Bar Blondeau $19 $38 5:00 to 7:00 PM weeknights at the bar, two of its cocktails at $11
June $20, every cocktail $40 None printed
Maison Premiere $21 $42 Its oyster happy hour is “not currently offered”

Bar Bayeux Not printed Not printed Tuesday to Friday until 7:00 PM
The Beer Garage, Park Slope Not published Not published 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday: $7 drafts, $1.50 oysters and clams

The view costs extra: the three rooms that sell one, Westlight, Harriet’s Rooftop and Bar Blondeau, start at $22, $25 and $19. The two list-makers sit in the middle, at $19 and $21. And the cheapest first round on the page comes with a live band, as long as you bring cash for it.

For a view

Bar Blondeau, Wythe Hotel, 80 Wythe Avenue. Sixth floor, overlooking Manhattan, and its own site describes it as a place for date nights. Tables for up to six book on Resy 28 days ahead; cocktails run $19 to $21, and on weeknights from 5:00 to 7:00 PM two of its cocktails drop to $11 at the bar. It closes at midnight.

Westlight, The William Vale, 111 North 12th Street. Twenty-two floors up and the highest room here. Cocktails are $22 to $25, with a $42 martini finished with caviar, and everyone must be 21 or over from 6:00 PM. Reservations are taken on its site, and it stays open to 2:00 AM on Saturday.

Harriet’s Rooftop, 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, 60 Furman Street. The closest view to Park Slope, 29 minutes by subway, on the 11th floor facing the Manhattan skyline and the Brooklyn Bridge. Its page says it opens weather permitting, books tables through SevenRooms and prints cocktails from $25.

For live jazz

Bar Bayeux, 1066 Nostrand Avenue. Its jazz page says it plainly: no cover, no tickets, no reservations. Most nights have sets at 8:00 and 9:30 PM with a one-drink minimum and tips for the musicians encouraged, and its calendar names the band for every set. Its cocktail list prints no prices.

Bar LunÀtico, 486 Halsey Street. Music from 9:00 PM every night, a suggested $10 per person in cash for the band, and a house rule worth knowing before a date: keep the conversation to a whisper during the set. It takes no reservations, parties of three or more should arrive 45 minutes early, some seating is communal, and the back patio closes at 8:45 PM.

For a classic cocktail room

Bar Madonna, 367 Metropolitan Avenue. No. 36 on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026. Every cocktail on its menu is $19, and tables for up to six book on Resy 30 days ahead; the bar, the counter and the walk-in tables are first come, so it suggests arriving early.

Maison Premiere, 298 Bedford Avenue. No. 40 on the same list, an oyster and absinthe bar since 2011, with its garden open from April to November. Oysters run until 11:30 PM, 12:30 AM at the weekend, and cocktails start at $21; a tableside martini is $30.

Clover Club, 210 Smith Street. A Cobble Hill cocktail bar since 2008, 17 minutes from us. Dinner reservations for two to eight, indoors, go through Resy, and on weekdays from 4:00 to 6:00 PM its classics are $10 and its oysters half price.

The Long Island Bar, 110 Atlantic Avenue. Opened in 1951 and restored in 2013, with cocktails at $18 and a $20 martini. It lists no Monday hours, and its homepage, read again on October 17, 2026, listed no closures still to come.

Sunken Harbor Club, 372 Fulton Street. A tropical bar upstairs from Gage & Tollner, walk-in only, with drinks from $18. It posts closures on its hours page, which listed none when we read it on October 17, 2026; check it before you go.

June, 231 Court Street, and Grand Army, 336 State Street. June is a natural wine bar with every cocktail at $20 and Resy bookings; Grand Army is the nearest room to Park Slope, with $18 “greatest hits” cocktails and a happy hour every day. Hotel Delmano at 82 Berry Street stays open to 2:00 AM, but the drinks menu on its site is dated November 2022.

Cocktail bar in Brooklyn: what a drink costs, neighborhood by neighborhood

Not every cocktail bar in Brooklyn is a date room, but the prices on this page hold for the borough’s best-known lists. Twelve of the thirteen rooms above print a price, and the cheapest cocktail on each runs from $15 to $25, with most at $18 to $21. Bar Madonna and Maison Premiere, Nos. 36 and 40 on North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026, start at $19 and $21, and the three rooms with a view start at $19 to $25.

Park Slope is cheaper. On October 1, 2026 we read the cocktail lists fifteen Park Slope rooms publish, and on the ten with prices most drinks cost $13 to $17: Rullo’s makes eight classics at $10, The Owl Farm charges $13 for every cocktail, and 390 Social prints twenty-five at $15 to $17. The room-by-room table is in our cocktail bar in Park Slope guide.

The cheaper hours close most of the gap. Clover Club’s classics are $10 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM on weekdays, Bar LunÀtico’s are $10 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM daily, and Bar Blondeau pours two of its cocktails at $11 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on weeknights at the bar. For a night without alcohol, Mockingbird on 7th Avenue in Park Slope serves only non-alcoholic cocktails in the evening, Thursday to Sunday, at $14 and $15.

Our room, honestly

The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue is a sports bar with garage doors, so the honest pitch for a date is narrow. There is no view, the TVs are on the walls, and no room on this page closes earlier: 10:00 PM Sunday to Thursday and 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday. We also do not publish a cocktail list, which is why our row in the price table is blank.

What we can offer a date is the start of the evening. Tables book on OpenTable, and from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday our listing prints $7 drafts with $1.50 oysters and clams, from a kitchen that is gluten-free on every plate. Grand Army and the Cobble Hill rooms are 13 to 20 minutes on, and our Park Slope date night guide lists the nights this fall when our screens are just background.

Which room for which date

Four rooms, four different evenings. Each line comes from the room’s own site.

Bar Blondeau, 80 Wythe Avenue. Fifty-three minutes by transit, in Williamsburg.

  • Best for a view you can book: sixth floor over Manhattan, Resy tables for up to six, cocktails from $19 and $11 at the bar on weeknights from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.
  • Skip if the date runs late; it closes at midnight every night.

Bar Bayeux, 1066 Nostrand Avenue. Twenty-one minutes by subway, in Prospect Lefferts Gardens.

  • Best for live jazz without a ticket: sets at 8:00 and 9:30 PM most nights, no cover, a one-drink minimum.
  • Skip if you need a table held; it takes no reservations, and it prints no cocktail prices.

Maison Premiere, 298 Bedford Avenue. Fifty-three minutes by two buses, in Williamsburg.

  • Best for oysters and a garden with a list-maker’s cocktails: No. 40 in North America, Resy a month ahead, walk-ins at the bar, garden until November.
  • Skip if you are counting on a cheap oyster hour; its site says that is not currently offered.

The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. Our own room, entrance on Douglass Street.

  • Best for an early first round: OpenTable bookings, $1.50 oysters and $7 drafts from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday, and a gluten-free kitchen.
  • Skip if you want a nightcap after 11:00 PM or a room without screens.

Twenty-one, and a ride home

Every drink on this page is for guests 21 and over with ID; Westlight admits no one younger after 6:00 PM. Six of these rooms are 36 minutes or more from Park Slope by transit, and four in Williamsburg stay open to 2:00 AM at the weekend, so settle how you are getting home before the second round.

Before you go

Check the closures. The Long Island Bar posts closures on its homepage and Sunken Harbor Club on its hours page. When we read both again on October 17, 2026, neither listed a closure still to come, so check them on the day.

Walk-in rooms fill first. Sunken Harbor Club, Bar Bayeux and Bar LunÀtico take no bookings; LunÀtico asks parties of three or more to arrive 45 minutes before the music.

Two sites disagree with themselves. Clover Club’s homepage gives both 1:00 and 2:00 AM for its weekend close, and Bar Bayeux’s pages give different opening times and differ on Sunday. Call before a late plan.

One menu is old. Hotel Delmano’s drinks menu file is dated November 28, 2022, so its $15 cocktails may not be today’s price.

Seasons end. Harriet’s Rooftop opens weather permitting, and Maison Premiere’s garden is open from April to November.

How we checked

How we checked

On September 30, 2026 we opened each room’s own website in a normal browser and read its hours, reservation page, FAQ and drinks menu, including menus published only as PDFs or images, which we read line by line. “Cheapest cocktail printed” is the lowest price on the room’s regular cocktail list, not its happy hour or zero-proof drinks. The two list positions come from the North America’s 50 Best Bars 2026 list on its own site.

Travel times are the fastest public transit option Google Maps showed from 148 5th Avenue for a Saturday departure at 7:00 PM. For our own room we used our website and our OpenTable listing, read September 29, 2026. No room paid to appear.

Start the date early in Park Slope

The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217, entrance on Douglass Street. $1.50 oysters and $7 drafts from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Monday to Thursday; open until 10:00 PM, 11:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.

Our Manhattan room is at 118 Christopher Street in the West Village, 646-490-4301, with a heated backyard garden; its kitchen is standard, not gluten-free.

The verdict

A date night bar in Brooklyn can cost $30 or $50 for the first round, and the difference is mostly the view. Bar Blondeau is the easiest booking with Manhattan in the window, Bar Bayeux the easiest good music, and Bar Madonna the best-value list-maker at $19 a cocktail. If the date starts in Park Slope, the Cobble Hill rooms are the short hop.

Start with us if you want oysters and a table held before 7:00 PM, and go on from there; no room on this page closes earlier than we do, and we would rather you knew that now.
