Finding a spritz bar in the West Village sounds easy, because half the neighborhood seems to have an Italian accent. Finding out what the drink costs before you sit down is harder. Plenty of rooms keep the drinks list at the table, a few post it as a picture, and one of the most famous posts a price list from 2020.

So we went looking for the printed version. On October 9, 2026 we opened the menus, PDFs and price lists of ten West Village bars and restaurants, wrote down every drink called a spritz with its price, and timed the walk to each from our West Village bar at 118 Christopher Street. Our own list is in the table too, read from our online ordering menu the same day.

Short answer

For a room built around the drink, go to Dante Aperitivo at 51 Bank Street: an Enzoni Spritz at $17, a Hugo Spritz at $19 and an Americano on tap at $10, from 5:00 PM on weeknights. Dante West Village at 551 Hudson Street lists five spritz-style drinks at $18 to $19 with outdoor seats. American Bar on Greenwich Avenue and Barbuto on Horatio Street print theirs at $20. Bar Pisellino on Grove Street is the classic Italian bar with sidewalk tables, but the only price list on its website is dated December 2020.

The lowest printed price we found is ours. The Beer Garage at 118 Christopher Street lists seven spritzes at $13 each, a zero-proof spritz at $10, and a heated backyard garden to drink them in.

A gluten-free note before the first round

Our West Village kitchen is a standard one, and nothing on its printed menu is labeled gluten-free, so we will not steer a celiac guest there for dinner. Our Park Slope bar at 148 5th Avenue in Brooklyn is a different story: its menu is headed “100% gluten-free”, and the gluten-free beer and cider guide covers what to drink there.

We do not label any drink gluten-free in either room. If that matters for your order, ask the bartender what goes into it.

Spritz bar in the West Village: every printed price, by walk

We kept a room in this table if its own website names a spritz. Walks are from our door at 118 Christopher Street, measured in Google Maps walking mode on October 9, 2026, and prices are exactly as each menu prints them.

Spritzes printed on the own websites of eight West Village bars and restaurants, read October 9, 2026, sorted by walk from 118 Christopher Street. Prices in US dollars, before tax and tip.
Room Walk Spritzes and prices, as printed Where the price comes from Hours and seats
The Beer Garage, 118 Christopher St Our door Aperol, Limoncello, Apple Cider, Campari, Capri, Sarti and Hugo spritzes, $13 each Our online ordering menu Heated backyard garden; to 11:00 PM Sunday to Thursday, midnight Friday and Saturday
Bar Pisellino, 52 Grove St 3 minutes, 0.1 mile Aperol Spritz, Americano, Sgroppino and Sbagliato, $15 A price list dated December 2020, the only one linked from its site 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily; outdoor café tables; no reservations
Dante West Village, 551 Hudson St 5 minutes, 0.2 mile Mandarin Spritz $18, Seville Spritz on tap $18, Dante Hugo Spritz $19, Cosmo Spritz $19, Amalfi Limonata $19 West Village cocktail menu dated September 29, 2026 Indoor and outdoor seating from 10:00 AM daily; to midnight on its hours page, 1:00 AM on its reservations page
American Bar, 33 Greenwich Ave 7 minutes, 0.3 mile Sbagliato, Aperol and Hugo spritzes, $20 each Menu dated July 24, 2026 Dinner from 5:00 PM, to 11:00 PM Sunday to Wednesday and midnight Thursday to Saturday
Dante Aperitivo, 51 Bank St 8 minutes, 0.4 mile Enzoni Spritz $17, Mandarin Spritz $18, Hugo Spritz $19; Americano on tap $10 Drinks menu dated September 23, 2026 Indoor seating from 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday, noon Friday, 10:00 AM at the weekend, to midnight, on its hours page; its reservations page says “from 10am until late”
Rosemary’s, 18 Greenwich Ave 8 minutes, 0.3 mile Rosemary’s Spritz (Cappelletti, frizzante, orange peel, rosemary), $17 Its West Village drinks menu Dinner from 4:00 PM, to 10:00 PM Sunday to Wednesday and 11:00 PM Thursday to Saturday; outdoor terrace
Aperitivo by Carta, 101 W 10th St 9 minutes, 0.4 mile Aperitivo, Negroni, Hugo’s Cousin, Vermouth, Paloma and zero-proof spritzes, no prices printed Its menu page “Golden Hour” 4:00 to 6:00 PM on weekdays; daily hours not printed on its site
Barbuto, 113 Horatio St 14 minutes, 0.6 mile Limoncello Spritz $20; the “1919” (prosecco, Cappelletti, grapefruit) $20 Its West Village menu page, which still listed a frozen summer sangria Lunch from noon, dinner from 5:00 PM, to 10:00 or 11:00 PM

Six of the eight print a current price. The spread runs from $13 on our list to $20 at American Bar and Barbuto, and every Dante spritz sits at $17 to $19. Aperitivo by Carta is the only room that calls part of its menu a “Spritz Bar” and then leaves the prices off, and Bar Pisellino’s $15 comes from a list that still carries a pandemic-era surcharge line, so treat it as history.

The same spritz, different prices

Names travel from menu to menu, which makes a straight comparison possible for a few drinks. These are the ones printed by at least two rooms.

Spritzes listed by name on more than one West Village menu, as printed on October 9, 2026. Bar Pisellino’s prices come from its December 2020 list.
Drink Lowest printed Also on
Aperol Spritz $13, The Beer Garage American Bar $20; Bar Pisellino $15 on its 2020 list
Hugo Spritz $13, The Beer Garage Dante West Village $19 (Dante Hugo Spritz), Dante Aperitivo $19, American Bar $20
Limoncello Spritz $13, The Beer Garage Barbuto $20
Mandarin Spritz $18, at both Dante rooms No other menu we read
Sbagliato $20, American Bar Bar Pisellino $15 on its 2020 list

Put another way, two Aperol Spritzes cost $26 on our list and $40 at American Bar, before tax and tip. The Dante drinks are not the same recipe as a house Aperol Spritz, though. The Mandarin Spritz adds Mandarine Napoléon to the Aperol, and the Seville Spritz on tap is built on Tanqueray Flor de Sevilla and orange wine, so part of what you pay for there is the bar program.

Zero-proof spritzes in the West Village

Six rooms print a spritz without alcohol, two of them restaurants that print no other spritz.

Non-alcoholic spritzes on the own menus of West Village venues, read October 9, 2026. Walks from 118 Christopher Street.
Room Walk Zero-proof spritz, as printed Price
The Beer Garage, 118 Christopher St Our door NA flavored spritz $10
L’Artusi, 228 W 10th St 3 minutes, 0.1 mile Meet Me in Venice: Giffard “spritz”, lemon, Indian tonic water, on its spirit-free list $14
Rosemary’s, 18 Greenwich Ave 8 minutes, 0.3 mile Salento Spritz: Lyre’s Italian Orange, Monday zero-proof gin, club soda $14
American Bar, 33 Greenwich Ave 7 minutes, 0.3 mile Jablonski Spritz: Pentire Coastal Spritz, French Bloom $15
Cafe Cluny, 284 W 12th St 9 minutes, 0.4 mile Love Spritz: non-alcoholic sparkling wine, lemon, mint $18
Aperitivo by Carta, 101 W 10th St 9 minutes, 0.4 mile NA Spritz: seasonal non-alcoholic aperitivo, non-alcoholic sparkling wine Not printed

The gap between the cheapest and dearest zero-proof spritz, $10 against $18, is wider than the gap between most of the alcoholic ones. If one of you is not drinking, that is worth knowing before you choose the room.

Happy hours and seats outside

A spritz is an early-evening drink, so the hours matter as much as the list. This is what each room prints about the hours before dinner.

The happy hours

Rosemary’s runs a happy hour on weekdays from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, indoors only, with wine at $7, beer at $6 and cocktails at $12; the happy-hour menu does not name which cocktails. Aperitivo by Carta calls its weekday 4:00 to 6:00 PM window Golden Hour and marks its spritz list “Regular / Golden Hour”, without printing either price. Dante West Village runs a $10 Martini Hour from 3:00 to 5:00 PM daily, which covers martinis rather than spritzes, and Dante Aperitivo’s $10 Americano on tap, Campari and vermouth with champagne and Perrier, is on its regular list at any hour.

Our own happy-hour list prices beer, wine, prosecco, sangria, mimosas and bellinis at $8 each, but no spritz, and we do not print the hours it runs. The spritzes stay at $13.

Seats outside in October

Four rooms mention outdoor space on their own sites. Dante West Village lists indoor and outdoor seating, Bar Pisellino calls itself an outdoor café, Rosemary’s mentions an outdoor terrace and invites guests up to its rooftop garden, and our garden on Christopher Street is heated. Dante Aperitivo’s listing mentions only indoor seating.

Names to cross off older spritz lists

Spritz roundups age quickly. These names still turn up in them, and here is what we found on October 9, 2026.

  • Extra Virgin, 259 West 4th Street. Older guides still list it for an Aperol Spritz. Time Out reported that the restaurant would close after May 31, 2024, and its old web address now loads a gambling site, so do not follow it. Sant Ambroeus West Village now gives 259 West 4th Street as its address, and its West Village menu page names no spritz.
  • Saint Theo’s, Bleecker Street. It still appears in older spritz roundups, but its website did not load for us on October 9, so it is not in our tables.
  • Bar Pisellino’s prices. The bar is very much open, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM daily on its homepage. Only its price list is old: dated December 2020.
  • Via Carota, I Sodi and Palma. All three are a few minutes away, and I Sodi and Palma have gardens, but none of the three names a spritz on its website: I Sodi links only to online ordering, and Palma’s drinks tab says just that it runs a full bar. Call or walk in.

Our spritz list, honestly

Our West Village online menu lists seven spritzes, all at $13: Aperol, Limoncello, Apple Cider, Campari, Capri, Sarti and Hugo. That is the lowest printed spritz price we found in the neighborhood, and seven is the longest list of the eight rooms in the first table. A non-alcoholic flavored spritz is $10. The full drinks list, with house cocktails and classics, is in our cocktail bar in the West Village guide.

The garden out back is heated, which matters more in October than any recipe. The front room has screens with sports on, and on a big game night they set the mood. We open at 3:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM on Friday, noon on Saturday and 1:00 PM on Sunday, and close at 11:00 PM, or midnight on Friday and Saturday. We publish no booking link for the West Village, so call 646-490-4301 for a table.

What we are not is an aperitivo bar. There is no Italian bar program behind our spritzes, no Americano on tap and no Golden Hour, and the happy-hour list leaves the spritzes off. If the setting matters more to you than the price, Dante Aperitivo and Bar Pisellino do that better, and they are eight and three minutes away.

Which room for which spritz

Four rooms, four kinds of spritz evening, each described from its own menu or, for us, our own.

Dante Aperitivo, 51 Bank Street. Eight minutes from us, on the corner of West 4th Street.

  • Best for an aperitivo hour done properly: Enzoni Spritz $17, Mandarin Spritz $18, Hugo Spritz $19 and a $10 Americano on tap.
  • Skip if you want to sit outside; the Dante site mentions only indoor seating for this room.

Bar Pisellino, 52 Grove Street. Three minutes from us.

  • Best for a spritz at a marble counter or a sidewalk table, any time from 8:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
  • Skip if you want to know the price before you order, or to book; it takes no reservations, and its posted price list is from 2020.

Rosemary’s, 18 Greenwich Avenue. Eight minutes from us.

  • Best for a weekday drink between 4:00 and 6:00 PM, when cocktails are $12 indoors, and a zero-proof Salento Spritz at $14.
  • Skip if you want a choice of spritzes; the drinks menu lists one.

The Beer Garage, 118 Christopher Street. Ours, three minutes from the 1 train at Christopher St-Stonewall.

  • Best for the lowest printed price, $13 for any of seven spritzes, in a heated backyard garden.
  • Skip if you want a quiet aperitivo room on a night when the big game is on.

Twenty-one and over, and a word on the bubbles

Every room on this page serves alcohol, so carry an ID that shows you are 21 or over. A spritz goes down quickly because it is long and cold, but it is still wine plus a liqueur, and two of them before dinner add up. The zero-proof spritzes above are real drinks, not an afterthought, if someone is driving or simply not drinking.

Before you go: five warnings

  1. Menus change. Barbuto’s menu page still listed a frozen summer sangria on October 9, and Bar Pisellino’s price list is from 2020. Check the price at the bar.
  2. The prices are before tax and tip. A $20 spritz costs more than $20 by the time you leave.
  3. Not every spritz is an Aperol Spritz. The Dante drinks, the “1919” at Barbuto and Rosemary’s own spritz are house recipes. If you want the classic, order it by name.
  4. Happy hours can mean indoors only. Rosemary’s 4:00 to 6:00 PM prices are for indoor tables only, by its own hours page.
  5. Booking varies. Bar Pisellino takes no reservations, Dante suggests booking through Resy and welcomes walk-ins, and our West Village room is a phone call.

Find your spritz

Two questions, sixteen answers, all taken from the tables above.

1. When are you going?

How we checked

On October 9, 2026 we opened the website of each venue on this page and read its drinks menu, including the PDF menus and price lists it links to, looking for drinks named as a spritz and the price printed beside them. Where a site printed no price, the table says so. We took hours and seating from each site’s own hours and location pages, and we did not count press coverage or review sites as a source for any price.

How we checked

Where a venue’s own pages disagree, as Dante’s hours and reservations pages do on closing times, we give both. Walks were timed in Google Maps walking mode from 118 Christopher Street. For our own room we used our online ordering menu and our website footer. Prices are before tax and tip. No venue paid to appear, and we did not visit the other rooms for this page.

Our Brooklyn room is at 148 5th Avenue in Park Slope, 718-576-3409, with a fully gluten-free kitchen and OpenTable bookings.

Is there a spritz happy hour in the West Village?

Only without printed prices. Aperitivo by Carta marks its spritz list with Regular and Golden Hour prices, Golden Hour being 4:00 to 6:00 PM on weekdays, but its site prints neither. Rosemary’s prices cocktails at $12 at the same time on weekdays, indoors, without naming them. The Beer Garage’s $8 happy-hour list includes prosecco but not its spritzes.

Where can I get a non-alcoholic spritz in the West Village?

The Beer Garage lists an NA flavored spritz at $10, L’Artusi and Rosemary’s list theirs at $14, American Bar at $15 and Cafe Cluny at $18. Aperitivo by Carta lists an NA Spritz without a price.

The verdict

If the drink is the point of the evening, Dante Aperitivo is the room built around it, and Bar Pisellino is the one to stand outside with. If the price is the point, ours is the lowest current price we found in the West Village, $4 below the next, and the garden behind the bar is heated for October. Read the menu before you order anywhere, because two of the lists on this page were older than they looked.
