The Giants keep their own list of bars. Eight are in Brooklyn, and three are a walk from our door.
We read the Giants Bar Network page on giants.com, then each Brooklyn bar’s own website: Sunday opening time, screens, Sunday Ticket, and whether the word Giants appears at all. Two of the eight print a 2:00 PM Sunday opening, an hour after most kickoffs.

Ask for a Giants bar in Brooklyn and many answers still point to a Park Slope room that closed in 2020. The better answer sits on the team’s own website. The Giants publish a Bar Network: 84 recommended venues across New York, New Jersey and Connecticut, with Modelo drink specials and watch parties when the team is on the road. Eight of the 84 are in Brooklyn.
On October 12, 2026 we read that page, then the website of each of the eight, then two Park Slope bars that are not on the list but name the Giants themselves. We wrote down what each one prints: Sunday hours, screens, Sunday Ticket, food. Then we set the rest of the Giants’ schedule against the hours of our own bar at 148 5th Avenue, which is not on the list, and wrote down where it fits and where it does not.
The Giants’ own Bar Network page listed eight Brooklyn bars on October 12, 2026: McMahon’s at 39 5th Avenue, The Layup at 47 5th Avenue and Ocean’s 8 at 308 Flatbush Avenue in Park Slope; Kent Ale House, The Big Whiskey and The Whiskey Brooklyn in Williamsburg; Rays Hometown Bar in Greenpoint; and Salty Dog in Bay Ridge. For a 1:00 PM Sunday kickoff, McMahon’s opens at 11:00 AM and Kent Ale House at 9:00 AM. Ocean’s 8 prints the most screens, 38, and Sunday Ticket.
The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue is not on the list. We are a sports bar six and seven minutes on foot from the two 5th Avenue bars, the whole menu is gluten-free, and on Sundays the doors open at 1:00 PM, which is kickoff, not before it.
A football Sunday runs on breading, buns and beer batter. Our Park Slope menu carries the heading “100% gluten-free”, so a table that includes someone with celiac disease can order the wings, the nachos and the burger without questioning the fryer. We did not read the other bars’ kitchens for gluten, and none of the eight prints a gluten-free claim on the pages we opened.
That kitchen is Park Slope only; our West Village bar in Manhattan cooks a standard menu. Most draft beer is brewed from barley, so ask what is pouring before the first round.
Giants bar in Brooklyn: the team’s own list of eight
The names and addresses below are as the Giants print them. Everything to the right of the address comes from the bar’s own website, read the same day. “Open before kickoff” means before the 1:00 PM Sunday start that seven of the Giants’ remaining games share.

Three things stand out. Five of the eight open before a 1:00 PM kickoff by their own printed hours, and only McMahon’s and Kent Ale House open early enough for a proper pregame. Two open at 2:00 PM, which is the second quarter. And not one of the seven websites we could open uses the word Giants; the connection is the team’s page, not the bar’s.
One name does not match. The Giants print “The Big Whiskey” at 524 Grand Street, and the bar at that address calls itself The Whiskey on Grand on its own site. The Giants also print Ocean’s 8 as “Ocean’s 8 Brown Stone Billards”; the bar’s own site says Oceans 8 Billiards, “Sports bar, grill and entertainment center”, since 1989.
Three of the eight are a walk from our door
Park Slope and Williamsburg have three Giants Bar Network rooms each, and the Park Slope three all sit at the Barclays Center end of the neighborhood. For anyone who came looking for a Giants bar in Brooklyn near the arena, these are the three.
The Layup, 47 5th Avenue, is six minutes and 0.3 mile from us. Its site calls it one block from Barclays Center and lists the NFL among the events it shows, with 15 beers on tap and smash-style burgers. It opens at noon on Saturday and Sunday and at 4:00 PM on weekdays, and closes at midnight every night, so a Thursday or Monday night game ends close to last call.
McMahon’s, 39 5th Avenue, is seven minutes and 0.3 mile away. The site prints one line of hours, 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM daily, which makes it the earliest opening and the latest close of the three. It has a back garden, an upstairs lounge for private events and “NFL Sunday” on its events list.
Ocean’s 8, 308 Flatbush Avenue, is eleven minutes and 0.5 mile away. It is the screen count on this page: eight “massive HD flat-screens” and 30 large TVs, with Sunday Ticket, next to 30 billiards tables and six ping pong tables. It opens at noon every day and closes at 1:00 AM from Sunday to Thursday.

Does any Brooklyn bar call itself a Giants bar?
Not on its own website, as far as we could find. The eight above are Giants bars because the Giants say so. Two Park Slope bars that are not on the team’s list do put the Giants in writing, and they are worth knowing for different reasons.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue, five minutes and 0.2 mile from us, says it shows “NFL, MLB, and NBA games throughout the season on multiple TVs and a projector screen” and names the Giants and the Jets among nine teams. Its homepage prints two Sunday opening times, noon in one block and 3:00 PM in another, so phone before a 1:00 PM game.
The Dram Shop, 339 9th Street, nineteen minutes and 0.8 mile away, lists the Giants game on its calendar every week, on “8 TVs” and a “Big Screen Projector”. Read its FAQ before you assume it is a Giants room, though. The home teams it names are the Green Bay Packers, the Mets, the Nets and the Wisconsin Badgers. Sound goes on for “all Green Bay Packer games” and, for the Giants, only in the playoffs.
And one name to cross off. 200 Fifth, at 200 5th Avenue, is the bar older roundups name for Giants games. Patch reported its closing on June 30, 2020, after three decades.

Dates, kickoff times and channels are from the Giants’ own schedule page, which prints them in Eastern Time. The last column is our Park Slope bar: regular hours from our website footer, with the gap to closing time worked out for the games that are not at 1:00 PM.

Count them up. Ten games have a date. Seven kick off at 1:00 PM on a Sunday, one at 4:25 PM on a Sunday, and two at 8:15 PM on a weeknight. The Sunday games are on FOX or CBS, which are broadcast channels, so any bar with a television can show them; the bar’s opening time matters more than its sports package.
We checked Weeks 6 to 9 against the league’s own weekly schedule pages on October 12, 2026 and they agreed. Holiday hours for late December had not been published on our site when this page was written, so the last three rows use regular hours.
The team’s watch parties: none in Brooklyn so far
The Bar Network page opens with a promise: “When the team is on the road, the Giants Bar Network has you covered.” It then lists five 2026 watch parties presented by Modelo, with “Celebrity DJ’s, Giants Legends, and Giveaways”. Two had already happened by October 12, in Riverdale, New Jersey and in Bayside, Queens. Three were still to come.

None of the five is in Brooklyn. No party was listed for the three later road games, at Seattle, Detroit and Dallas.
Where our bar fits, honestly
The Beer Garage Park Slope is a sports bar at 148 5th Avenue, entrance on Douglass Street. It is not on the Giants Bar Network, and it has never called itself a Giants bar. Our homepage promises a full sports line-up without naming the NFL, and we have never published a screen count or a sound policy, so this page will not make one up. To be sure the Giants game is on with sound, call 718-576-3409 that morning.
Now the hours. On Sundays we open at 1:00 PM. That is the kickoff time of seven of the Giants’ remaining games, so there is no pregame here: the door opens as the ball is kicked. If you want a seat and a beer before the anthem, McMahon’s has been open for two hours by then and The Layup for one. The December 13 game at Seattle, a 4:25 PM start, is the one that suits us best.
The two night games are a different story. We close at 10:00 PM on Thursdays and Mondays, 105 minutes after an 8:15 PM kickoff, which is about halftime. McMahon’s, 39 5th Avenue. For the pregame and the late finish.
- Best for arriving before a 1:00 PM kickoff and for the two 8:15 PM games: it is on the Giants’ list and prints 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM daily.
- Skip if you need a screen count or a sound promise in writing; its site gives neither.
Ocean’s 8, 308 Flatbush Avenue. For screens.
- Best for a group that wants the Giants and the rest of the league at once: 38 screens by its own count, with Sunday Ticket, open from noon.
- Skip if you want a quiet room; it is a pool hall with 30 tables.
Kent Ale House, 51 Kent Avenue. For Williamsburg and an early start.
- Best for brunch before the game: open from 9:00 AM on Sundays, brunch from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, twelve flat screens with NFL Ticket.
- Skip if you expect a room of Giants fans only; its site calls it home to Arsenal supporters and puts soccer first.

- Best for a 1:00 PM or 4:25 PM Sunday game with a fully gluten-free menu, six and seven minutes from two bars on the Giants’ list.
- Skip if you want a pregame, a Giants-only crowd or the fourth quarter of a night game; we open at kickoff on Sundays and close at 10:00 PM on weeknights.
Every bar on this page serves adults aged 21 and over and will ask for identification. A 1:00 PM kickoff means drinking through lunch, so order food early, alternate with water, and settle how you are getting home before the two-minute warning rather than after it.
Before you go: five warnings
Two listed bars print a 2:00 PM Sunday opening. The Big Whiskey, which calls itself The Whiskey on Grand, and The Whiskey Brooklyn both show 2:00 PM on their own sites. Bars do open early for games, but neither site says so; phone before a 1:00 PM kickoff.
The list is the team’s, not the bars’. None of the seven sites we could open names the Giants, and none prints a sound policy. Being on the list means Modelo specials and fellow fans, by the Giants’ own description. Ask about sound.
Salty Dog could not be checked. Its web address showed a domain error on October 12, 2026, so its row has no hours. It is the only Bay Ridge bar on the list.
The Dram Shop is a Packers bar. It lists the Giants game every week, and its FAQ gives sound to every Green Bay game and to the Giants only in the playoffs.
Night games outlast our hours. Thursday, November 12 and Monday, December 28 both kick off at 8:15 PM, and we close at 10:00 PM.

Ocean’s 8. Thirty-eight screens by its own count and a 1:00 AM close on Sunday, long after a 4:25 PM game ends.
The Beer Garage. This is the Giants game our hours suit best: we open at 1:00 PM and close at 10:00 PM, 335 minutes after a 4:25 PM kickoff.
Any of the four. Kent Ale House, Rays Hometown Bar, The Big Whiskey and The Whiskey Brooklyn are all open by 2:00 PM on a Sunday, by their own sites.
McMahon’s. Open to 2:00 AM every night. The Layup closes at midnight, close to the end of an 8:15 PM game.
Ocean’s 8. Open to 1:00 AM from Monday to Thursday, with a pool table for halftime.
The Beer Garage for dinner and the first half. We close at 10:00 PM, about halftime of an 8:15 PM game. McMahon’s is seven minutes away for the second half.
Kent Ale House. Open to 2:00 AM from Monday to Thursday. The two Whiskey bars print 1:30 AM and Rays 1:00 AM.
No watch party in Brooklyn. The three still listed were in Manhattan, New Jersey and the Bronx. To stay in Park Slope for a road game, McMahon’s and The Layup are both on the list.
3 Sheets in Manhattan on October 25. That is the team’s own party for the Texans game. In Brooklyn, Ocean’s 8 has the screens but no party.
The Beer Garage. Every remaining road game with a date kicks off on a Sunday at 1:00 PM or 4:25 PM, except December 28 at Detroit. We are open for all the Sunday ones.
Kent Ale House for the game; Manhattan for the party. None of the listed watch parties is in Williamsburg or Greenpoint.
How we checked
On October 12, 2026 we read the Giants Bar Network page and the 2026 schedule page on giants.com, and counted the venues by state: 49 in New York, 29 in New Jersey and 6 in Connecticut. We then opened the website of each Brooklyn venue: home, hours, events, sports, about and menu pages. Quotes are as printed. One site did not load, and its row says so. We re-read the schedule page and the Bar Network page on October 19, 2026: the remaining games, kickoff times, channels, the eight Brooklyn venues and the three watch parties still to come were unchanged.
The walk to Ocean’s 8 was measured in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue on October 12, 2026; the walks to The Layup, McMahon’s, Uncle Barry’s and The Dram Shop were measured the same way on September 25, 2026. Our own hours come from our website footer. No venue paid to appear, and we did not visit the other bars for this page.
Six minutes from the Giants’ list, with nothing fried in wheat
The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217, entrance on Douglass Street. Open 3:00 to 10:00 PM Monday to Thursday, 2:00 to 11:00 PM Friday, 1:00 to 11:00 PM Saturday and 1:00 to 10:00 PM Sunday. On a Giants Sunday, the door opens with the kickoff.

The Giants Bar Network page listed three still to come on October 12, 2026: October 25 at 3 Sheets in Manhattan, November 8 at Bask46 in Woodland Park, New Jersey, and November 29 at HK Kitchen and Draft House in the Bronx, each for a 1:00 PM road game. None was in Brooklyn.
Do I need a bar with NFL Sunday Ticket to watch the Giants in Brooklyn?
No. The Giants’ schedule page lists the Sunday games on FOX or CBS, which are broadcast channels in New York, so any bar with a television can show them. The November 12 game is listed on Prime Video and the December 28 game on ESPN. Sunday Ticket matters for out-of-town teams.
Can I watch the Giants at The Beer Garage in Park Slope?
We are a sports bar with a fully gluten-free menu, but we are not on the Giants’ list and have not published a screen count or a sound policy. On Sundays we open at 1:00 PM, at kickoff. Call 718-576-3409 on the day to confirm the game and the sound.
The verdict
The honest answer to “Giants bar in Brooklyn” is a list of eight that the team itself keeps, and the useful part is what the list leaves out. McMahon’s and Kent Ale House are the two that open early enough for a pregame. Ocean’s 8 has the screens. Two Williamsburg bars on the list print an opening time after kickoff, and no bar’s own site promises the sound.
Ours is not a Giants bar and does not pretend to be one. It is a sports bar with a gluten-free kitchen, six minutes from the list, open from kickoff on Sundays and closed before the end of a night game. If that is the table you need, we would be glad to have you; if it is not, McMahon’s is seven minutes along 5th Avenue.
