Ordering mocktails in the West Village used to mean asking the bartender what could be made without the gin. Now a good number of rooms print a zero-proof list of their own, with a name, a recipe and a price for each drink. What they do not agree on is the price. The same evening can cost $10 a glass or $19, depending on which door you pick.

So we wrote the prices down. Fourteen West Village bars and restaurants post a drinks list we could read on October 13, 2026, as a web page or a PDF, and we copied out every drink sold as non-alcoholic, zero-proof or spirit-free, price included. Each distance is a timed walk from The Beer Garage on Christopher Street, and our own three drinks, taken from our ordering menu that day, sit in the same table as everyone else’s.

Short answer

The lowest printed price for mocktails in the West Village is ours. The Beer Garage at 118 Christopher Street lists an NA Mojito, an NA Mule and an NA Flavored Spritz at $10 each, with a heated backyard garden to drink them in. The Clam on Hudson Street prints two at $12, and four rooms print theirs at $14: L’Artusi, Joseph Leonard, Jeffrey’s Grocery and Rosemary’s.

For the cocktail-bar version, Employees Only is 348 feet from our door with two spirit-free cocktails at $18. Katana Kitten prints one at $17, and Dante West Village lists four from $14 to $17. Dante Aperitivo on Bank Street charges the most: $19 for each of its four.

Gluten-free, in two lines

Nothing on our West Village menu is labeled gluten-free, food or drink, and that kitchen is a standard one. The menu headed “100% gluten-free” belongs to our Park Slope bar at 148 5th Avenue in Brooklyn, and the gluten-free restaurant guide for Park Slope explains what that covers.

A drink without alcohol is not a drink without gluten. Non-alcoholic beer is still beer, so ask what is in the glass if it matters to you.

Mocktails in the West Village: every printed price, by walk

A room is in this table if its own website names at least one mixed drink made without alcohol. The walk column starts at our front door and uses Google Maps on foot. Drink names, recipes and prices are copied as printed.

Twelve of the thirteen print a price, and together they print 35 zero-proof drinks. Five rooms print four each: Dante West Village, Dante Aperitivo, Joseph Leonard, American Bar and Rosemary’s. Katana Kitten and L’Artusi print one. Aperitivo by Carta is the only room that gives the list its own “Zero Proof” heading and then leaves every price off.

The price ladder, $10 to $19

Sorted by price instead of by walk, the same 35 drinks look like this.

Printed prices of zero-proof drinks on West Village menus, lowest first, read October 13, 2026. Before tax and tip.
Printed price Rooms and drinks Drinks at this price
$10 The Beer Garage, all three 3
$12 The Clam, both 2
$14 L’Artusi; Joseph Leonard, all four; Jeffrey’s Grocery, all three; Rosemary’s, all four; the NA Cosmojito at Dante West Village 13
$15 American Bar, all four 4
$16 Dante West Village (Dante Italian Spritz, Espresso Shakerato); Cafe Cluny (Phony Negroni, Rosy Sprig) 4
$17 Katana Kitten; the NA Blood Orange Spritz at Dante West Village 2
$18 Employees Only, both; the Love Spritz at Cafe Cluny 3
$19 Dante Aperitivo, all four 4

The most common price is $14, with 13 of the 35 drinks. Two rounds for two people, four drinks, come to $40 on our list, $56 at any of the $14 rooms and $76 at Dante Aperitivo, before tax and tip.

One more detail from the two Dante menus. A drink called the Dante Italian Spritz is $16 on the Hudson Street menu and $19 on the Bank Street one. The recipes are close but not identical: each names a different non-alcoholic sparkling wine.

What is in the glass

The printed recipes fall into three families, and the family explains a good part of the price.

Built on a non-alcoholic spirit

Employees Only builds its two on Almave, a non-alcoholic blue agave spirit, and Undone whiskey. Katana Kitten uses a non-alcoholic agave spirit as well. Dante West Village names Seedlip Grove and Lyre’s Italian Spritz, American Bar names three Pentire bottlings and Seedlip Spice, and Rosemary’s names Lyre’s Italian Orange, Monday non-alcoholic gin and Ghia. These are the drinks priced from $14 to $19.

Listed by brand

One drink is listed by its brand name, the way a beer would be. St. Agrestis Phony Negroni, which the Joseph Leonard menu places in Brooklyn, turns up on four lists.

The same branded drink on four West Village menus, as printed on October 13, 2026.
Room How the menu lists it Price
Joseph Leonard St. Agrestis “Phony Negroni”, N/A, Brooklyn, NY $14
Jeffrey’s Grocery Phony Negroni, BK, St. Agrestis $14
Cafe Cluny Phony Negroni, non-alcoholic, St Agrestis $16
Aperitivo by Carta Phony Negroni, classic or white Not printed

Juice, tea and soda

The rest are built in the glass from fruit, herbs, tea and soda, with no stand-in spirit at all. The Clam’s Sea Nymph is pear, lemon, grenadine and green tea. Jeffrey’s Grocery’s Big Apple is apple, yuzu and champagne vinegar. Joseph Leonard’s Let It Linger puts bell pepper, sweet corn and cilantro in one glass. Cafe Cluny’s Rosy Sprig is lemon, rosemary and aquafaba.

Our own menu prints names and a price, not recipes, so we cannot put our three in a family here. Ask at the bar. For the zero-proof spritzes alone, set side by side, see the table in our spritz bar in the West Village guide.

Non-alcoholic beer, room by room

Not everyone who skips alcohol wants something sweet. Nine menus print a non-alcoholic beer, and on this one we are not the lowest price.

Non-alcoholic beers printed on West Village menus, lowest price first, read October 13, 2026. Before tax and tip.
Room Beer, as printed Price
The Clam, 420 Hudson St Athletic Brewing Run Wild non-alcoholic IPA, 12 oz can $7
Katana Kitten, 531 Hudson St Good Time IPA or pilsner, listed as non-alcoholic beer $8
Rosemary’s, 18 Greenwich Ave Athletic Brewing Upside Dawn $8
Barbuto, 113 Horatio St BrewDog Hazy AF, 12 oz $9
The Beer Garage, 118 Christopher St Athletic NA, on our beer list $10
Joseph Leonard, 170 Waverly Pl Athletic Brewing Upside Dawn, 12 oz can $11
Jeffrey’s Grocery, 172 Waverly Pl Athletic Brewing Upside Dawn, 12 oz $11
Cafe Cluny, 284 W 12th St Bitburger non-alcoholic $12
Aperitivo by Carta, 101 W 10th St NA Estrella Galicia and NA Weihenstephan Not printed

Barbuto is 14 minutes and 0.6 mile from us and prints no zero-proof mixed drink, which is why it is in this table and not the first one. An Athletic can is $7 at The Clam and $8 at Rosemary’s, against $10 for the Athletic on our list.

On request, and not printed

A few menus say more than their zero-proof section does.

  • Katana Kitten. Two of its highballs, the shiso gin and tonic and the yokocho paloma, carry an asterisk that reads “non-alcoholic available”, made with one of three Seedlip spirits. The highballs are printed at $19.50, and the menu gives no separate price for the version without alcohol.
  • Employees Only. Under its two spirit-free cocktails the NA page adds a line: ask the staff about custom mocktail options.
  • The Clam. Its $12 Spritz is zero-proof by default, and the menu offers to “add a spirit” for $17. Here the alcohol is the extra.
  • TALEA, 102 Christopher Street. Our nearest neighbor, 180 feet away, says on its visit page that it serves “beer, wine, cocktails, coffee, and non-alch options”. That page does not list them or price them.
  • Aperitivo by Carta. The list is there, five lines of it, and the prices are not.

Our zero-proof list, honestly

Our West Village online menu has a section headed Zero Proof with three drinks, all at $10: an NA Mojito, an NA Mule and an NA Flavored Spritz. That is the lowest printed price we found in the neighborhood, $2 under the next room and $9 under the highest. Athletic NA is on the beer list at $10, and sodas run from $3 to $6. For everything else we pour, from house cocktails to the classics, see our cocktail bar in the West Village guide.

Out back there is a heated garden, useful in October whatever you are drinking. Doors open at 3:00 PM from Monday to Thursday, 2:00 PM on Fridays, 12:00 PM on Saturdays and 1:00 PM on Sundays. Closing time is 11:00 PM, except Fridays and Saturdays, when it is midnight. There is no online booking for this room; a table is a phone call to 646-490-4301.

A zero-proof bar program is one thing we cannot claim. Our menu prints three names and one price. It names no non-alcoholic spirit and prints no recipe, and three drinks is a shorter list than the four at Rosemary’s, Joseph Leonard, American Bar or either Dante room. The front room also has screens with sports on. If you want a bartender’s drink with a named spirit in it, Employees Only is 348 feet away, and we would rather tell you that here.

Which room for which drink

Four doors for four kinds of sober evening, each summed up from what its menu prints.

Employees Only, 510 Hudson Street. One minute from us, 348 feet.

  • Best for a spirit-free cocktail built like the real thing: Buzzkill or Spirited Away at $18, or a custom one if you ask.
  • Skip if you want to reserve a table for drinks; its site says reservations are for dinner only.

Joseph Leonard, 170 Waverly Place. Five minutes from us.

  • Best for the least expected list: bell pepper and sweet corn in one glass, espresso and tonic in another, all four at $14.
  • Skip if you want a familiar name; the only one on its list is the Phony Negroni.

Rosemary’s, 18 Greenwich Avenue. Eight minutes from us.

  • Best for four choices at one price, $14, with a non-alcoholic beer at $8 for the person who wants neither.
  • Skip if eggs are a problem and you were eyeing the Ghia Sour; its recipe prints egg white.

The Beer Garage, 118 Christopher Street. Our own room, a three-minute walk from the Christopher St-Stonewall stop on the 1.

  • Best for paying the least: $10 for any of the three, with a heated garden out back.
  • Skip if you like to read the recipe first, or if a big game on the screens would spoil a quiet drink.

Bring your ID anyway

Every room on this page is a bar, or a restaurant with one, and most of the glasses around you will have alcohol in them. Bring identification proving you are at least 21, even on a night off drinking. And non-alcoholic does not always mean zero. American Bar prints French Bloom Le Blanc at 0.0% and Aperitivo by Carta prints one of its beers at 0.0% ABV, but most menus print no figure at all. If a trace matters to you, ask before you order.

Before you go: five warnings

  1. Menus change. American Bar’s menu is dated July 24, 2026 and the Dante menus are dated late September. Confirm the number before you order.
  2. Tax and tip come on top. A $19 drink costs more than $19 by the time you leave.
  3. Zero-proof is not allergen-free. As printed, Rosemary’s Ghia Sour has egg white, Jeffrey’s Grocery’s Shimmy, Shimmy Ya! has almond, and Katana Kitten’s Chelsioso has coconut.
  4. Some are made to taste like the original. Drinks built on non-alcoholic agave, whiskey or gin are meant to resemble the cocktail they replace. If that is what you are avoiding, the juice and tea drinks at The Clam and Jeffrey’s Grocery are a different thing.
  5. Booking varies. Employees Only reserves for dinner only, and for our room on Christopher Street you phone.

How we checked

Every venue named here was checked on its own website on October 13, 2026: the drinks page first, then any PDF menu linked from it. We looked for drinks the menu itself marks as non-alcoholic, zero-proof, spirit-free, 0% or N/A, and for the price printed beside each one. A missing price is shown as missing. Press write-ups and review sites were not used for any drink or price.

How we counted

The count of 35 covers the drinks each menu prices in its zero-proof cocktail section, including the Phony Negroni, which menus list by brand. It leaves out non-alcoholic beer, non-alcoholic wine by the glass such as French Bloom at American Bar ($20) and the House of Waris sparkling at Cafe Cluny ($16), coffee, tea, juice and soda, and the two Katana Kitten highballs that can be made without alcohol at no stated price.

Walking times are Google Maps estimates on foot, starting at our Christopher Street door. Our own drinks and hours come from our ordering menu and the footer of our website. Nobody paid for a place in these tables, and nobody from our team went to the other rooms to write this.

The Clam lists an Athletic Run Wild at $7, Katana Kitten and Rosemary’s list one at $8, Barbuto at $9, The Beer Garage at $10, Joseph Leonard and Jeffrey’s Grocery at $11 and Cafe Cluny at $12. Aperitivo by Carta lists two without prices.

Does Employees Only have non-alcoholic cocktails?

The verdict

When the drink itself is the reason for going out, Employees Only and the two Dante rooms treat a zero-proof cocktail as seriously as the other kind, and they charge $14 to $19 for it. When the bill matters more, nothing we read beats our $10 for mocktails in the West Village, and there is a heated garden to drink them in. The middle of the market is $14, at four rooms within eight minutes of our door. Read the menu before you order anywhere, because one of these lists prints no prices at all.
