Game Day · Park Slope · Updated October 21, 2026
Most Nets nights fit. The Knicks’ road trips do not.
Where to watch NBA in Park Slope, counted game by game: every 2026-27 tip-off for both New York teams against the hours our 5th Avenue bar keeps.
- Nets: 68 of 80 scheduled games fit
- Knicks: 56 of 80 scheduled games fit
- Open to 10:00 PM weeknights, 11:00 PM Fri and Sat
- 8 minutes on foot to Barclays Center
- Park Slope kitchen: 100 per cent gluten-free
Where to watch NBA in Park Slope comes down to a number no bar sign shows: how long the room stays open after tip-off. We took both New York teams’ full 2026-27 regular seasons from the NBA’s own schedule data, converted every tip-off to Eastern Time, and set each one against the hours posted on our website for 148 5th Avenue.
The Nets come out of that well. The Knicks, with more late West Coast games, less so. Below are the nights we cannot cover and the Park Slope bars that stay open for them. For the Nets’ first month with channels, see where to watch NBA in Brooklyn; for both teams across the city, where to watch NBA in New York.
For most Nets games and about two in three Knicks games, you can watch the whole game at The Beer Garage on 5th Avenue: 68 of the Nets’ 80 scheduled games and 56 of the Knicks’ 80 tip off at least two and a half hours before we close. For the late ones, Uncle Barry’s at 58 5th Avenue and McMahon’s Public House at 39 5th Avenue both publish 2:00 AM closing times. Two games per team were not yet on the league’s schedule when we read it.
Nothing that comes out of our Park Slope kitchen contains gluten: the fryer, the grill and the buns are all gluten-free, so wings or nachos at the half need no conversation with the server. This is true of Park Slope only; our West Village room runs a standard kitchen.
The whole season against our hours
Our Park Slope hours, as published in the footer of our website on September 24, 2026: Monday to Thursday 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, Friday 2:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Saturday 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and Sunday 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
An NBA game usually runs a little over two hours. We counted a game as whole when tip-off is at least 150 minutes before we close, tight at 120 to 149 minutes, when you will probably lose the end of the fourth quarter, and too late below 120.
| Team | Games scheduled | Whole game before we close | Tight | Too late | Before we open |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brooklyn Nets | 80 of 82 | 68 | 5 | 7 | 0 |
| New York Knicks | 80 of 82 | 56 | 11 | 10 | 3 |
The usual Nets tip-off is 7:30 PM, for 38 of their 80 games, which leaves two and a half hours even on a weeknight. The Knicks are spread wider: 26 games at 7:30 PM, 18 at 7:00 PM and 12 at 8:00 PM. The 8:00 PM weeknight start is the one that runs into our 10:00 PM close.
The Nets nights we cannot finish
Twelve of 80, and every one is a road game, so there is no arena crowd to plan around.

The Knicks’ four Saturday 8:30 PM games, on December 12, January 30, February 13 and February 27, do fit, because we stay open until 11:00 PM on Saturdays.
When both teams play the same night
The Nets and the Knicks play separate games on 36 nights this season. On 10 of those they tip off at the same moment: October 30, November 4, December 23, February 4, February 9, February 25 and March 23 at 7:30 PM; December 2 at 8:00 PM; April 9 at 7:00 PM; and April 11 at 6:00 PM.
On those nights only one game gets the sound in most rooms. We do not claim a team, so call 718-576-3409 and ask which game will be on with sound before you walk over. The LayUp Bar says on its own site that it runs nine screens with the sound on, which makes it the likelier room for two games at once.
The four Nets and Knicks meetings are a single game, not a clash: Monday, November 2 and Sunday, December 27 at Madison Square Garden, and Monday, February 1 and Friday, April 2 at Barclays Center. The two Barclays dates are home nights, so the top of 5th Avenue fills with ticket holders before tip-off; our guide to bars near Barclays Center covers those doors.
Park Slope bars that stay open later
This table uses only what each bar publishes about itself, read on September 24, 2026. “Not named” means the bar’s own site does not mention basketball, not that it will refuse to put the game on.
| Bar | Address | Basketball on its own site? | Weeknight close | Friday and Saturday close |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| The Beer Garage | 148 5th Ave | Not named; “a full sports line-up” | 10:00 PM | 11:00 PM |
| Uncle Barry’s | 58 5th Ave | Yes: “NFL, MLB, and NBA games”; names the Knicks and the Nets | 2:00 AM | 4:00 AM |
| The LayUp Bar | 47 5th Ave | Yes: names the Nets, the Knicks and the Liberty | 12:00 AM | 12:00 AM |
| McMahon’s Public House | 39 5th Ave | Not named; room “to watch a game on tv” | 2:00 AM, open from 11:00 AM daily | 2:00 AM |
| The Commissioner | 247 5th Ave | Not named | 12:00 AM Monday to Thursday | 2:00 AM, from 12:00 PM Friday to Sunday |
Two notes. Uncle Barry’s lists its Sunday opening two ways on the same page, noon in one place and 3:00 PM in another, both to 2:00 AM. And The Dram Shop on 9th Street showed us a bot check instead of its website on September 24, so it is left out rather than quoted from an older reading.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue. Five minutes from our door, and its own site names both New York teams.
- Best for a 10:00 PM or 10:30 PM West Coast tip-off, such as the Nets at the Clippers on March 4.
- Skip if you need a gluten-free kitchen.
McMahon’s Public House, 39 5th Avenue. Open from 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM every day, per its own site.
- Best for the Sunday lunchtime Knicks games on March 14 and March 28, before most of 5th Avenue opens.
- Skip if you want a published promise that basketball will be on; its site does not name the sport.
Channels: what the league publishes
The same NBA schedule data lists DAZN (YES) as the local broadcast for every Nets game, so ask a bar for YES Network. For the Knicks, when we reread it on October 21, 2026, it listed MSG / DAZN (MSG) for most games and a national broadcast for the rest: opening night against the 76ers on October 20 was on NBC and Peacock, and others list Prime Video, ESPN, ABC or NBA TV. Channels change, so check the day before.
Our room on a game night
The Beer Garage Park Slope is at 148 5th Avenue, with the entrance on Douglass Street. We do not claim a team and have never published a screen count. What we can promise is the arithmetic above and a kitchen with no gluten in it.
The room is eight minutes on foot from the Barclays Center arena doors, and nine from the Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr station, measured in Google Maps walking mode. Union St on the R is six minutes away and Bergen St on the 2 and 3 is eight. On one of the 40 Nets home nights, eat here and walk down the hill; on a road night, stay for the game.

Everyone at every bar on this page needs ID showing they are 21 or older, Sunday afternoon games included. A weeknight game that is still going when we close at 10:00 PM means a late trip home, so settle it at halftime.
Which Park Slope bar for your game?
Two questions, sixteen answers, all drawn from the tables above.
1. Whose game?
2. When is tip-off?
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. No Nets game starts before we open. The earliest is 1:00 PM on Sunday, February 14, when our doors open, and the weekend 3:00 PM games fit easily.
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. The whole game with room to spare, and a gluten-free dinner. This covers most of the Nets season.
Here on a weekend, Uncle Barry’s on a weeknight. We stay open until 11:00 PM on Saturdays, but an 8:00 PM weeknight tip-off leaves us two hours; Uncle Barry’s, five minutes away, is open until 2:00 AM.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue. Open until 2:00 AM on weeknights and 4:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays, and its site names the Nets.
McMahon’s Public House, 39 5th Avenue. Open from 11:00 AM every day, which covers the Sunday noon Knicks games. We open at 1:00 PM.
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. A 7:00 or 7:30 PM Knicks tip-off finishes well before we close, with wings and nachos from a gluten-free kitchen.
Here on a Saturday, Uncle Barry’s on a weeknight. The Saturday 8:30 PM Knicks games fit our 11:00 PM close. The eleven 8:00 PM weeknight games do not quite; Uncle Barry’s names the Knicks and stays open late.
Uncle Barry’s or McMahon’s. Both publish a 2:00 AM close. Uncle Barry’s names the Knicks on its site; McMahon’s does not name basketball, so call first.
McMahon’s, then us. On Sunday, March 28 the Knicks tip off at 12:30 PM and the Nets at 3:00 PM. McMahon’s opens at 11:00 AM and we open at 1:00 PM, in time for the Nets.
Call before you choose. On ten nights the teams tip off together. Ask us on 718-576-3409 which game gets the sound, or try The LayUp Bar, which publishes nine screens with sound on.
The LayUp Bar, 47 5th Avenue. Open until midnight and it names both teams. On December 2 they both start at 8:00 PM.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue. On January 4 the Nets start at 9:00 PM and the Knicks at 10:00 PM; Uncle Barry’s is open until 2:00 AM and names both teams.
McMahon’s Public House, 39 5th Avenue. The earliest opening on 5th Avenue that we found published, at 11:00 AM daily.
The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. The whole game before we close and the only fully gluten-free kitchen on this page.
The LayUp Bar on a weeknight, us on a weekend. The LayUp stays open until midnight every night; we are open until 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Uncle Barry’s, 58 5th Avenue. Until 4:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 AM on other nights, the latest hours on this page.
Use the tables above: we cover most 6:00 to 7:30 PM tip-offs; Uncle Barry’s and McMahon’s publish 2:00 AM closings for the late games.
How we counted
On September 24, 2026 we read the NBA’s schedule data for the 2026-27 season through the league’s own website, kept only regular-season games, and converted every tip-off from UTC to Eastern Time in code. Both teams had 80 of their 82 games scheduled at that point.
Each tip-off was set against the Park Slope hours in our website footer on the same day. The other bars’ hours and wording come from their own websites, read the same day. Walk times were measured in Google Maps walking mode for our earlier Park Slope guides. Nobody paid to be listed, and no bar was visited for this page.
Most tip-offs, the whole game, gluten-free
The Beer Garage Park Slope, 148 5th Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11217, entrance on Douglass Street.
Our Manhattan room is at 118 Christopher Street in the West Village, 646-490-4301; its kitchen is standard.
Frequently asked questions
Where can I watch NBA games in Park Slope?
The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue covers the whole game for 68 of the Nets’ 80 scheduled games and 56 of the Knicks’ 80. For later tip-offs, Uncle Barry’s at 58 5th Avenue and The LayUp Bar at 47 5th Avenue both name the Nets and the Knicks on their own websites. The LayUp is open until midnight and Uncle Barry’s until 2:00 AM or later.
Which Park Slope bar stays open latest for a West Coast NBA game?
Uncle Barry’s publishes 2:00 AM Monday to Thursday and 4:00 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. McMahon’s Public House publishes 2:00 AM every day. The Beer Garage closes at 10:00 PM on weeknights and 11:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
What time do most Nets games start?
7:30 PM Eastern. That is the tip-off for 38 of the Nets’ 80 scheduled regular-season games in 2026-27, according to the NBA’s schedule data.
What channel are Nets and Knicks games on?
The NBA’s schedule data lists DAZN (YES) as the local broadcast for every Nets game. For the Knicks it lists MSG / DAZN (MSG) on most nights, read October 21, 2026, and a national broadcast on others, such as NBC and Peacock for opening night on October 20.
Can I watch the Knicks and the Nets at the same bar on the same night?
Both teams play on 36 separate nights this season, and on 10 of them they tip off at the same time, so most rooms will have one game without sound. Call ahead and ask which game will have the sound.
Is the food gluten-free at The Beer Garage in Park Slope?
Yes. The Park Slope kitchen is 100 per cent gluten-free, including the fryer and the buns. That applies to Park Slope only.
The verdict
For a Nets fan, where to watch NBA in Park Slope is mostly settled: 68 of 80 games finish before we close and none starts before we open. For a Knicks fan it is closer to two nights in three.
Keep the 24 Knicks dates and 12 Nets dates above to hand, and have Uncle Barry’s or McMahon’s ready for those. For everything else, the room at 148 5th Avenue does the job, with a kitchen you do not have to ask questions about.
