That is the wrong axis. The NFL runs five different kickoff windows a week and Park Slope bars keep five different sets of hours, so the only question that matters is whether the room you pick is open from your kickoff to your final whistle. This page answers that window by window, using each bar’s own published hours and the league’s own schedule.

Our room, the Park Slope sports bar at 148 5th Avenue, wins two of the five windows and loses three, and the table says so. For Sunday night, Monday night or Thursday night football it closes at 10:00 PM ET, so pick McMahon’s Public House or The Commissioner instead.

The gluten-free part, scoped

The Beer Garage kitchen at 148 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn is 100 per cent gluten-free and prints that on its own menu header, so the wings, the nachos, the burger and the pizzas are all gluten-free at the Park Slope room. That does not extend to the bar: most beer contains gluten, and it does not extend to our Manhattan room, whose kitchen is a standard one. Every time on this page comes from the league’s schedule in ET.

The best place to watch NFL football in Park Slope at 1:00 PM ET

For the Sunday 1:00 PM ET window The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue is a genuinely good call, with one caveat worth planning around. The room opens at 1:00 PM ET on Sundays, which is the same minute the early games kick off, so there is no arriving early to claim the corner. Walk in at one, or walk in at half past and take what is left.

What it gets you: a converted garage with the door rolled up in decent weather, a kitchen that is 100 per cent gluten-free so nobody in your group is reading labels, wings at $14 and a burger at $24, and nine minutes on foot from the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station if you are coming from Manhattan. The late window at 4:05 PM and 4:25 PM ET is the easier one: you are already seated, the room has settled, and there are nearly six hours of opening left.

Possible downside, stated plainly. We have never published a screen count or a sound policy for either room, and two bars three minutes from the arena have. If your Sunday depends on a specific out-of-market game being on a specific screen with the sound up, call 718-576-3409 and ask what is on before you walk down, because this page will not pretend to know. A bar that publishes “nine screens with sound on” is making you a promise we have not made.

The garage front at 148 5th Avenue, open to the sidewalk. Two of those four, McMahon’s and The LayUp Bar, are three minutes from the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, which matters when you are leaving at one in the morning.

21 and over with valid ID

Alcohol service in New York is governed by the New York State Liquor Authority, and everyone drinking needs valid identification showing they are 21 or over. The early and late windows run on CBS and Fox. Those are the times on the league’s own schedule, read September 16, 2026. Broadcast windows flex from Week 5 onward, so check the week you are planning for.

What time is the kickoff on Sunday?

Most Sunday games kick at 1:00 PM ET. The second wave is at 4:05 PM ET and 4:25 PM ET, and the night game is at 8:20 PM ET. For a Park Slope plan the difference matters: The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue opens at 1:00 PM ET on Sundays, so the early window starts the moment the door does, and the 4:25 PM ET window is the relaxed one.

Which Park Slope bar is open latest for Monday Night Football?

McMahon’s Public House at 39 5th Avenue, which publishes daily hours of 11:00 AM to 2:00 AM on its own site, is the latest of the bars covered here. The Commissioner, The LayUp Bar and The Dram Shop at 339 9th Street all close at midnight on Mondays. The Beer Garage closes at 10:00 PM ET, which is about a hundred minutes after an 8:15 PM ET kickoff.

Does The Beer Garage in Park Slope show NFL games?

Yes. If you watch NFL football in Park Slope, the room at 148 5th Avenue carries the full sports line up including the NFL, and the Sunday afternoon windows are the ones its hours suit best. What it has never published is a screen count or a sound policy, so if you need a specific out-of-market game on with sound, call 718-576-3409 and ask before you walk over. The answer changes week to week.

Is the food gluten-free at the Park Slope location?

Yes. The Beer Garage kitchen at 148 5th Avenue in Park Slope, Brooklyn is 100 per cent gluten-free and prints that on its menu header, so wings, nachos, the burger and the pizzas are all gluten-free there. Beer is a separate question, because most beer contains gluten, and the Manhattan room is a standard kitchen. Readers with celiac disease should ask staff and use their own judgment.

How far is the walk from Barclays Center to a Park Slope football bar?

From the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station, McMahon’s Public House and The LayUp Bar are three minutes on foot, The Beer Garage is nine, The Commissioner fifteen, The Dram Shop twenty seven and Black Horse Pub thirty three. All measured in Google Maps walking mode on September 14 and 16, 2026. On an arena event night, add about five minutes to anything on 5th Avenue.

The verdict

If you want to watch NFL football in Park Slope on a Sunday afternoon, The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue is a good room for it: open at 1:00 PM ET, a kitchen that is 100 per cent gluten-free so the table orders without a conversation, wings at $14, and nine minutes from the train. If you want a primetime finish, we are the wrong answer and we would rather say so than have you settle up at halftime. McMahon’s Public House runs to 2:00 AM every night and The Commissioner to 2:00 AM on Sundays, and The LayUp Bar and The Dram Shop are the two here that publish screen counts. Pick by kickoff, not by list.

Sources and references

NFL 2026 schedule, Week 7, Week 8 and Week 9, kickoff times in ET, read October 20, 2026; Giants and Jets networks from each team’s own schedule page, read September 28 and October 19, 2026, and the standard national network for each primetime game.

The Beer Garage, beergarageny.com, the Park Slope hours that decide where you watch NFL football in Park Slope, plus the address and phone, and the posted Park Slope menu, read September 16, 2026.

Google Business Profile for The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue, hours and category, read September 14, 2026.

Google Maps walking directions, nine routes, measured September 14 and 16, 2026.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority, subway lines at Union St, Bergen St and Atlantic Av-Barclays Ctr.

Barclays Center, event calendar, for the sidewalk note on 5th Avenue.

McMahon’s Public House, The LayUp Bar, The Commissioner and The Dram Shop, own websites, read September 16, 2026 and reread September 25, 2026, when The Dram Shop’s hours, specials and screen count and the McMahon’s Sunday Ticket note were corrected.
