Easy to find, because four bars on and around 5th and 7th Avenues print a $1.50 oyster somewhere on their own pages. Easy to miss, because no two of them run it on the same days, one runs it only on Mondays, and the most-shared lists online still send people to rooms that have closed.

So on October 7, 2026 we read the happy-hour menus, posters and raw-bar pages of each place ourselves, including the ones that only exist as an image on a website, and wrote down the price, the hours, the oyster, the limits and the regular price for comparison. The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue does it Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, clams included. 390 Social at 390 5th Avenue does it Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday and Sunday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at $1.55 by card. Siren at 687 5th Avenue does it Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday to Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the bar and lounge only, up to two dozen each. Bar Louise at 221 7th Avenue does it on Mondays.

In Boerum Hill, Grand Army at 336 State Street sells a happy-hour half dozen for $13. LoFi Bar at 341 2nd Street serves Wellfleet oysters Thursday to Saturday, but at full price: three for $12. At full price, a dozen costs $42 to $51 at the bars that print a per-oyster price.

Oysters are gluten-free; the extras are where to look

A raw oyster contains no gluten, but what comes with it can: crackers, a malt-vinegar mignonette, a breaded side. In our Park Slope kitchen that question does not come up, because the whole menu is printed under the words “100% gluten-free”, sauces and sides included.

That is a Park Slope fact only; our West Village bar runs a standard kitchen. Of the other bars on this page, Grand Army prints an allergen key that marks its happy-hour oysters for allium, not gluten, and Siren notes gluten-free pasta options. We have not checked how the other kitchens make their mignonette, so ask before you dip.

Oyster happy hour in Park Slope, day by day

The deals do not overlap neatly, so here they are by day. Its website lists Tuesday to Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Friday to Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and says the restaurant is closed on Mondays; the PDF happy-hour menu says Monday to Thursday and adds a late-night Thursday from 9:00 PM to close. Treat the PDF’s Monday and late-night lines as unconfirmed and call 347-689-4577 first. The oysters come from Fulton Fish Market in the Bronx, by its menu, and arrive with cocktail sauce, fresh horseradish, a tequila mignonette and cucumber salad.

390 Social. Every price on its menu has two numbers: cash or debit on the left, card on the right, 3% higher. The happy-hour oyster is named on the menu as “Bar Crudo Oysters, NJ”, described as a balance of brine and sweetness. Its hours list no Monday and its happy hour no Saturday.

Bar Louise. The $1.50 oyster is a Monday special on its happy-hour poster, and the Monday happy hour runs unusually late, to 11:00 PM. At the weekend the deal flips: from 1:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, a house martini is $10 when you order oysters, at a price the website does not print.

Grand Army. The discount is sold by the half dozen, $13 for six, which works out at about $2.17 an oyster. Happy hour runs Monday to Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. We have no oyster deal from Friday to Sunday. We do not print the variety or the farm of our Park Slope oysters, which LoFi, Siren and 390 Social all do in some form. And our happy hour stops at 7:00 PM, half an hour before Thursday’s free trivia starts at 7:30 PM, so a long Thursday is oysters first, trivia after, at full price.

What we do have is the kitchen. Every dish on the Park Slope menu is gluten-free, so a dozen oysters can turn into wings or nachos for the table without anyone checking a label. More on that in our guide to the sports bar with fully gluten-free food in Brooklyn, and on the rest of our menu in best bar snacks and wings in Park Slope.

Which raw bar for which evening

Five evenings, five answers, each from the bar’s own pages or, for us, our own listings.

The Beer Garage, 148 5th Avenue. For an early start, Monday to Thursday.

Best for oysters and clams at $1.50 from 3:00 PM, a $7 draft, and a kitchen where every plate is gluten-free.

Skip if it is Friday, Saturday or Sunday, or you want to know which bay your oysters came from.

Bar Louise, 221 7th Avenue. For a long Monday.

Best for $1.50 oysters on a Monday, with a happy hour that runs to 11:00 PM and $14 martinis.

Skip if it is any other day; the oyster price is a Monday special only.

390 Social, 390 5th Avenue. For Friday and Sunday.

Best for a named oyster at $1.50 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday and Sunday, fourteen minutes from us.

Skip if you pay by card and mind the 3%, or it is a Monday or a Saturday.

Siren, 687 5th Avenue. For Saturday, and for choice.

Best for the only $1.50 oyster printed for a Saturday, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, and five named East Coast oysters at full price after that.

Skip if you want a dining-room table at the happy-hour price; the deal is bar and lounge only.

Grand Army, 336 State Street. For Boerum Hill and a weekend afternoon.

Best for a $13 half dozen from 2:00 to 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, or 5:00 to 7:00 PM on weeknights, with an $8 mini martini.

Skip if you are counting every dollar; at about $2.17 an oyster it is the dearest discount on this page.

Our door at 148 5th Avenue, with OYSTERS lettered on the pillar. We checked the places named in older oyster guides on Google Maps and on their own websites the same day.

Walks were timed in Google Maps walking mode from 148 5th Avenue. Our own deal comes from our OpenTable listing and our regular price from our Park Slope menu. By their own pages, read October 7, 2026: The Beer Garage at 148 5th Avenue has $1.50 oysters and clams Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM; 390 Social has $1.50 oysters Tuesday to Thursday and on Friday and Sunday; Siren has them every day but Monday, at the bar and lounge; and Bar Louise has them on Mondays.

Which Park Slope bars have $1.50 oysters?

Four print the price on their own pages: The Beer Garage, 390 Social, Siren and Bar Louise. In Boerum Hill, Grand Army sells a happy-hour half dozen for $13, about $2.17 an oyster.

Where can I get cheap oysters in Park Slope on a Saturday?

Siren at 687 5th Avenue is the only bar we found that prints $1.50 oysters on a Saturday, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM, at the bar and lounge. Grand Army in Boerum Hill sells a $13 half dozen from 2:00 to 4:00 PM.

How much do oysters cost in Park Slope outside happy hour?

Between $3.50 and $4.25 each at the bars that print a price: $3.50 at 390 Social by cash, $3.75 to $4.25 at Siren, and $4 at The Beer Garage with a minimum of six. LoFi sells Wellfleets at three for $12.

Are oysters gluten-free?

A raw oyster contains no gluten, but crackers, breaded sides and some mignonettes can. At The Beer Garage in Park Slope the whole menu is gluten-free; elsewhere, ask how the mignonette is made before you order.

Does The Beer Garage in Park Slope have an oyster happy hour?

Yes. Our OpenTable listing prints $1.50 oysters and clams and $7 draft beer, Monday to Thursday from 3:00 to 7:00 PM. Outside happy hour, oysters and clams are $4 each with a minimum of six.

The verdict

The best oyster happy hour in Park Slope is the one open on the day you are free. Monday to Thursday, ours starts earliest and includes clams; on a Monday, Bar Louise keeps going to 11:00 PM. On Friday and Sunday, 390 Social and Siren carry the price, and on a Saturday Siren is the only $1.50 oyster we could find, with Grand Army’s $13 half dozen as the afternoon option in Boerum Hill.

Whichever you pick, go by the bar’s own page rather than an old list. Five of the names those lists still repeat have closed or stopped serving oysters.

Sources and references

The Beer Garage: our OpenTable listing (happy hour) and the Park Slope menu (regular prices), read October 7, 2026.

390 Social happy hour menu and food menu, read October 7, 2026.

Siren happy hour and menus, including its happy-hour PDF, read October 7, 2026.

Bar Louise specials (happy-hour poster) and menus, read October 7, 2026.

Grand Army hours and menus, and LoFi Bar specials, read October 7, 2026.

Bearded Lady menu, and Google Maps listings for Bar Crudo, Grand Central Oyster Bar Brooklyn, Littleneck and Kittery, checked October 7, 2026.

Google Maps walking mode, from 148 5th Avenue to each bar, timed October 7, 2026.

Marina Charny
Owner, The Beer Garage (Park Slope and West Village)
This guide is for anyone in Park Slope who would rather know which night the $1.50 oysters are on before leaving the house, ours included.
